WCW Circa Mid 90s Remember Glacier, well, if not, the Sub-Zero rip-off is covered elsewhere on this site. Anyway the brain-trust at WCW knew that with a "great superhero" like Glacier that they need a villain. This brings us to Mortis.
You see, the guy standing beside Mortis is James Vandenberg (later known as the Sinister Minister in ECW). Well, Vanderberg began showing up on WCW programming and spoke about how he hated Glacier and knew how to destroy him. The always insightful Tony Schiavone told us that Vandenberg was from Glacier's past, but had no idea how. Well, Mortis debuted and attacked Glacier. These two fought at Uncensored in a wild, most chaotic brawl WCW had ever seen. Oh wait, thats not what happened. Why did happen was a bunch of kicks and restholds until Wrath came down and helped Mortis. Wrath is Adam Bomb, who has to be covered sooner or later. The feud continued for a while, because Vandenberg and Mortis stole Glacier's "battle helmet" which looked more like one of those Chinese hats you can get at Kings Island. Basically because the writers were too concerned with the 48 nWo segments during every Nitro to do anything else, Glacier and Mortis had a rematch at Slamboree 97 in the most pointless match you will ever see. Glacier runs into the ring, Mortis pounds him for a good 40 seconds, then he calls out Wrath, they double-team him for what seems like eight years, until Earnest Miller runs in from the crowd and does some sweet looking kick. Glacier was soon gone from WCW, so there was really no point for Vandenberg or Mortis. The saddest part of this whole situation is that Mortis was Chris Kanyon and Kanyon had to carry Glacier through all of their matches, and now has to carry the shame of being Mortis.
