My sister is my best friend,
She'd never let me down,
She's just the kind of person,
You'd always want around.
She doesn't criticize me, when things aren't
going right,
She listens and confides in me, morning, noon,
or night.
We've laughed together through the years,
We've shed a tear or two,
We've talked on the phone for hours,
Whenever we were blue.
I cherish her opinion,
For she thinks only of me,
I'd give to her the world,
For she'd give the world to me.
We share a special kind of love,
That only sisters do,
Memories that will last forever,
Memories of me and you.
Such happy times when we were young,
I recollect the days,
When we were dressed in frilly lace,
And bellbottoms--were the craze.
Do you remember running down the hill one sunny
day?
And do you remember the big fat nail,
Waiting for you on the way?
And how about the kittens and the rabbits and
the dogs,
And playing in the cornfields and watching the
big fat frogs?
And how about our horse ride,
When I was on the back,
And I know you won't forget Elvis,
When the owner took him back.
But I guess you'll not forget the time,
When you almost choked to death,
Cause we were playing with our dog,
And I tied him around your neck.
It was all these things and many more,
That I will never forget,
From childhood days to adulthood,
Through marriages and regret.
So I just want to let you know,
I dedicate this to you,
You're the best sister a girl could have,
You're loyal and true blue.
So if you have a sister,
I hope she's just like mine,
A loving and devoted woman,
Who will always find the time.
To help you when you need it most,
To lend an ear or two,
To be thoughtful and considerate,
And sister, that is you.
