OUR WEDDING

Fond memories take me back in time,
Can you remember too,
When we both went in front of God,
And we both said "I Do".
We looked just like a picture,
My gown so full and white,
You were the perfect gentleman,
Your black tux fit just right.
With music playing softly,
The most romantic song,
And hand in hand dad walked with me,
Our distance seemed so long.
I know my knees were knocking,
My hands were shaking too,
But not a soul would notice,
We said our "I Love You's".
You promised to love forever,
And keep me safe from harm,
If only I'd of know back then,
You had alot of charm.
You told so many stories,
None of which were true,
It all became a nightmare,
No one trusted you.
How many times my tears did flow,
How many nights went by,
How many women did you have,
How many by your side.
What ever happened to the man,
That once had all my love,
What changed him so to let me go,
I'll never understand.
You took an oath before the Lord,
An oath that now means nothing,
Here stands a woman torn apart,
Alone with her heart broken.
My heart can try to mend itself,
But the scar will still remain,
For I can never trust again,
I'll always have the pain.
It never completely goes away,
No matter what I do,
But I want to take time out,
And credit this to you.
So as you think back to the time,
When we were newly wed,
Remember all the pain you caused,
Remember what you said.
