For each and every one of us
A mother we've been blessed
Its how you treat the one you love
That makes the big difference.
Do you tell mom that you love her
As often as you should
Do you put your arms around her
And hold her like you could.
Do you take her with you when you can
To show her a good time
Or do you just rush in to drop off kids
For a moment of your time.
Do you call her up to say hello
And ask how was your day
Or do you call her up to babysit
Then hurry on your way.
Can you think of times when she thought of you
And your needs were put first
Can you think of when she went to bed
With feelings that were hurt.
Have you ever talked unkind to her
Or made her shed a tear
Can you remember back when you were small
How she took away your fears.
Do you say I'll talk to you later
And hope she will forget
Do you put aside your wants and needs
Do you have any regrets?
You better take the time to think
You better stop and see
The woman God put here on earth
A mom for you and me.
I could never hurt my mother
Or ever make her cry
I can't imagine talking harsh
Or telling her goodbye.
I know I'm very fortunate
To have the very best
I know that God must love me lots
To make me very blessed.
So stop and think of mother
Especially on this day
For God above has promised
To only let her stay.
We know not when He'll call her back
To his Mansion in the Sky
So you'd better make the best of life
Don't let it pass you by.
For wishes of the times gone by
Is of no use to her now
She can't feel arms or a tender kiss
Or finally watch you smile.
So never let things come to this
Of things you should of done
Take time while it is not too late
Make Mother number One.
