Is there such a thing as Heaven
For a pet of mine to go?
I know there must be something
Maybe-- not as we know.
There must be somewhere special
For each and every one
For God above made all of them
Like us--he lists each one.
I wonder if they have a place
Beneath the Gates of Heaven
And when they die they're in a book
A book named "Animal Heaven."
For pets show love and kindness
They stay with you from the start
Although you might hurt their feelings
It doesn't break their heart.
And when you leave they watch for you
Just like a little child
Awaiting anxiously for your return
Sometimes they act so wild.
They need a tender loving hand
To pat them on the head
They need to hear a firm voice
Whenever they are bad.
So maybe when our pets pass on
There is another place
That God has set aside for them
Just like the human race.
So when you loose your loved one
Just look up toward the sky
To see if you can see a cloud
Shaped like your pet pass by.
For often when you look at clouds
They seem to form a shape
Could one be of the pet you lost
Telling you to wait.
Someday when you reach Heaven
You might travel to the place
Where God has created special clouds
To keep them all in place.
A place of beauty to behold
For each and every one
This is their final resting place
A place for them to call Home.
