I heard so many people say--
"My God, where were you when?"
I listened to the cries and screams
I heard my name-- in vain.
I saw disgust and shaking heads
I saw the tearful eyes
I looked upon the doubting hearts
The Devil-- in disguise.
For I had been forgotten
From the many times before
You thought you were forsaken
But I was standing at the Door.
My tears had formed the stairway
To their everlasting life
I held each of your husbands
Your brothers, sons, and wives.
I gave to them the gift of love
I showed them Heaven's Gates
They now live in the City--
Of Gold and Pearly Gates.
To everyone that lost someone
Let not your heart be sad
For they are in a better place
Than man has ever had.
Your time on earth is but a clock
That slowly ticks away
Until my time at last has come
Then you shall come and stay.
Within the City of Golden Streets
And flowers everywhere
The beauty of the Angels
Are far beyond compare.
To anything you've seen or heard
You cannot vizualize
The House I have prepared for you
To live in all your life.
So when there is a tragedy
Don't think that I'm not there
For I cry the tears that forms the steps
That leads each soul up here.
To a place someday you'll call your Home
You'll see your loved ones then
To this I promise each of you
To this rejoice---Amen.
