GRANDMA'S HOME TO STAY

As she lay sleeping in her bed
HE said "Her time has come"
To join with us in Heaven
Her journey's just begun.
The Gates were opened for her
Oh what a wonderous sight
To gaze upon our Lord above
And then to her delight
She saw the one and only love
That she had ever known
Come walking down the garden
Honey, I've come to take you Home.
I've waited such a long, long, time
For you to join me dear
Take my hand and walk with me
I want to hold you near.
Our boys are waiting for you
They've been here for awhile
They've fixed a special meal for you
Then grandma--began to smile.
Our house is never empty
Just like it used to be
You'll see all the family members
But most of all--you'll be with me.
Grandma looked at Grandpa
And said "I'm finally Home"
Cry not for me my children
For now I'm not alone.
You'll never have to worry
Your dad is by my side
We'll set a place at the table
When each of you stops by.
We send our love to each of you
There is no better day
When God opens up the Gates to you
And you are Home to stay.

I dedicated this to my Grandma Winans who died on Sunday, May 16, 2004.
