As we began to gather
Around the Christmas tree
There is a special glowing
That everyone can see.
There is such love within this house
We feel your presence near
But since we cannot see you
Forgive us of our tears.
We know you're always with us
We know you're out of pain
It gives us strength in knowing
We'll be with you again.
The greatest gift that you received
Was when He called your name
You took a breath and closed your eyes
And softly said His name.
Every day would be Christmas
When its spent with the Lord above
No problems or no worries
Just beauty, peace, and love.
We will gather round the table
And think back to the days
And talk about our younger years
And all the different ways
We grew up each and every one
With family always first
Of pride, respect, and values
Of praying in our church.
Although this year is lonely
Because we can't embrace
Or look into your twinkling eyes
Or see your smiling face.
We know that you are near us
You watch us day by day
So Merry Christmas from us all
We'll be with you some day.
