I am a person who doesn't believe in accidents; am a firm believer that all things
happen for a reason. I believe in friendships and even though I have had friends who
have let me down, I truly believe that they were there for a reason and even the
bad experiences have helped me to grow as a person.
If I had to sum up my friend Serena in one word I am afraid it would be totally
impossible. Ha ha. She is probably one of the most unique people I have ever met.
She has become one of my closest friends over the past year and one thing is
certain; it was NO accident that our paths crossed. Technology can be grand in
that we now have two web sites which would have never existed had it not been
for our meeting each other.
We have not only become great friends but we now have a ministry for abused
and battered children and for adult survivors of mental, physical, and sexual abuse.
I suppose one of the greatest needs for anyone is to be understood and to be
accepted for who and what they are. We both suffer from DID, commonly known
as Multiple Personality Disorder. I won't go into all of the dynamics because you
can do that in our site. The major fact is that it can be a very "alone" disorder and
most "oneness" people, as we call them, don't take the time to
find out about this disorder and how to communicate with those who do.
Before Serena and I found each other, we both had to depend on the "oneness"
world to meet all our needs. Don't get me wrong on this one. We both have had some
wonderful and fantastic support systems, but who can understand a multiple any
better than another multiple?
We usually chat at least once a day. Anyway, our personalities feel very comfortable about coming out and
talking to one another and some of our alters have become friends also.
Living the life of a multiple is very different, often perplexing and sometimes down
right frustrating. For some people it is strange and we have been given many terms; some of them not very nice.
My friend Serena and I, as you will discover in our web sites are very functional
and will have to admit she is definitely one of the most organized people I have
ever known. Hope she will be able to get this across to some of my alters who
have some difficulty with the organizational skills.
Well, forgot to also mention she can be very stubborn and bullheaded at times
but then so can I.
Know one thing for sure. We are forever friends and she has proved in many many ways that she is there for me (and us) and will always be.
Thank you my dear friend. Love you loads!!
as always
