Desdemona is completely unlike her namesake. Desdemona (or Dezzy for short) is outgoing, mischevious, and is a crafty fighter, the opposite of Desdemona the devoted wife of Othello. She is midnight black all over except for a few red patches, the most notable being a red outline around her left ear.

Desdemona is crafty like her father Macavity, and has her mother's (Solitaire) slyness and dry wit. She meets her sister Nefret one year after they were seperated (which is a while for a cat). When the two were young kittens they had been the best of friends, but now they were on opposite sides of the railroad tracks. Nefret was a Jellicle, and Desdemona was a brilliant stray with a hatred for Jellicles. All it takes is a leap of faith to bring the sisters back together again - but who will make it?
