Solitaire is the classy dame of the henchcats. She is a slender and silky black queen with small grey stripes. Her golden eyes almost appear to glow, and can tear down a cat's defenses with just one look. Her attitude is that of a suave and sophisticated upper-class lady.

When Solitaire was barely out of kittenhood, she joined up with Macavity and his gang. At the time, they were just beginning their famous exploits, and she was all too happy to join. She quickly passed up through the ranks, and as the gang grew, so did her importance and closeness to Macavity. The two were an unofficial pair; Macavity would have his various mates, and Solitaire would enjoy herself playing with the Jellicle toms' minds. The deciding moment came when Nefret and Desdemona were born.

Nefret and Desdemona changed everything. Macavity had recently taken a new mate, a fierce (and jealous) queen named Tigress. Only afterwards had they found out that Solitaire was pregnant. They hid the pregnancy. Tigress had a history of killing rival queens, and now was not the time to challenge her authority. A few weeks after the kittens were born, however, she learned of the event and rushed over to the abandoned warehouse where Solitaire and her kittens were hiding. Macavity had been visiting. To say Tigress was angry would be an understatement. She was way beyond furious. The jealous queen attacked Macavity, and then Solitaire. The two kittens were ushered outside to avoid being caught in the middle. Tigress was captured and thrown in a dark cell back in the sewer. Unfortunatly, after the fight, Nefret was discovered to be missing. All the henchcats were called out to look for the lost kitten, but she was never found. Solitaire and Macavity finally became mates, but the loss of Nefret continually bothered them; that is, until one day...
