Kevin put a pillow over his head in an effort to silence the ringing in his head. The ringing went on and on and something in Kevin's sleep-muddled brain told him the ringing wasn't in his head. Lifting the pillow slightly and peering out from underneath it, he realized the phone was ringing. He groaned aloud as he reached across the bed and picked it up.
"Hello?" he said in to the phone groggily when he finally got the reciever to his ear after his still asleep limbs dropped it twice.
"Kevin, darling!" Kevin almost groaned aloud again when he recognized Olivia's voice on the other end. How the hell did she get my number? he asked himself, seconds before he realized he had given it to her the night before.
"Hi, Olivia." he said, unenthusiasticlly. He laid his head back down on his pillow and listened to Olivia telling him about the wonderful time she'd had the night before. He listened without much response until she asked him to take her out to lunch. He searched around the room with his eyes as if it would give him the excuse he needed to tell her no. Nevertheless, he found nothing and agreed to meet her at a small cafe in one hour.

Kevin nodded his head along with whatever Olivia was telling him, staring into his plate of pasta. Olivia had yet another story about a 'charming little cafe' she and her last boyfriend had gone to. Kevin just nodded and offered the occasional "Uh-huh" to let her know he was listening.
When she finished that story and launched into another one, Kevin looked up and out the window he was sitting by. He did a double take when he thought he saw a familar figure walking into the department store across the street.
"Olivia." he interrupted her, mid-story. "Can you excuse me for a moment? I'll be right back." and he left with no further explanation.
He left the small cafe and jogged across the street to the department store and entered it. Standing in the doorway, he looked around until he found what he was looking for. He crept closer to get a better look and assure himself that it was who he thought it was and then he approached her.
"You know, I thought I was beginning to see things, angel." He said in his most charming voice and Drew turned from the clothes rack she was looking at and smiled at him.
"Did you? Why's that?" she asked.
"Well, here I was, having yet another charming meal with Olivia when I looked out the window and who did I see?" He gestured towards her, smiling. "I just figured I was hallucinating, like a thirsty man in a desert."
Drew laughed and shot a glance out the store's window to the cafe across the street where she could see Olivia sitting at a table by the window. "Just a blind date, huh?" she asked him slyly.
Kevin followed her line of vision and looked at Olivia for a moment before turning back to Drew, sighing. "Well..." he began but couldn't find a reasonable explanation.
"What about you?" he asked her in an effort to get the attention off of him. "What are you doing this afternoon?"
She gave him a half smile and looked back at the rack of clothing. "Shopping." she said and moved away from him to resume her shopping.
Kevin followed her, looking in the racks after she did. "So..." he said, attempting to start conversation, but not knowing what to say. He watched the way her small hands moved gently over the clothes as she looked at every piece.
"You have beautiful hands." he said impulsivly.
Drew's hand stopped on the clothes and she looked over at him. "Thanks." she said before turning her attention back to the clothes.
Kevin tried to think of something else to say, something that wouldn't make him look like a complete idiot. He got himself back in control and tried again.
"You know, angel..." he started in a low voice but was cut off by Drew turning suddenly toward him and sliding her hand up his chest. Her hand reached his mid-chest and she grabbed a hand full of his shirt and gently pulled him toward her. Kevin shuddered as she leaned forward toward his ear. His own breathing stopped as he felt her breath on his ear, ever so slightly before she whispered seductivly "Don't you think you should get back to your 'lunch date', Kevin?" She pulled away slightly and smiled into his eyes seductively and ever so slowly let go of his shirt."
Kevin looked at her confused for a minute before he regained his senses and smiled at her. "You're probably right." he said and gave her a wink along with the smile that has melted the hearts of young girls everywhere. "I guess I'll see you around, angel." he said and turned away from her and made his way back across the street.
