Pokémon Crystal

You didn't think the Pokémon games would end with Gold and Silver, did you? Crystal is pretty much to Gold and Silver what Yellow was to Red and Blue - it has the same story as G/S, but with lots of new features that make Crystal seem like a whole new game. Wanna know some of the changes between Gold/Silver and Crystal? You've come to the right place...

Pokémon: While you won't find any brand-new Pokémon in Crystal, you'll find that some of the existing Pokémon have new hiding places, so you might have to look even harder for those last few elusive creatures... And, like in Pokémon Yellow, you'll find that some Pokémon can now learn moves and use TMs that they couldn't use in the previous games.

New Characters: At the beginning of Pokémon Crystal, you'll get the chance to choose between a boy and girl trainer to play as! The boy is the same as in Gold and Silver, but the girl is entirely new. Maybe the game will play out differently depending on who you choose...

Battle Animations: Remember those boring, motionless Pokémon during battles in Gold and Silver? Well, forget them, because in Crystal, the Pokémon actually move during battle! For example, the flames on Cyndaquil's back will flare up when it does an attack. And, because of the animations, Crystal is a GB Color-only game, so if you only have the old black-and-white Game Boy, looks like you're out of luck...

While Pokémon Crystal hasn't gotten a US release date yet, you probably can expect to see it over here sometime in 2001. Until then, check out these screenshots, and stay tuned for more information!
