Kids Club FAQ
Magikarp's Splash
The point of this game is to get the most hits on the counter. When you
press the A button, Magikarp will jump. However, in order to hit the
counter, you must PRESS AND HOLD the A button. If you release it too
early Magikarp will fall before it hits the counter and it won't count
as a hit. Try to press and hold the A button as soon as Magikarp touches
the ground, then release it as soon as it hits the counter. It's worth
it to practice to get the hang of the timing. Ties are possible in this
minigame, allowing two or more people to win, or maybe even all four!
This game is just like that stupid Flagman game from Game & Watch Gallery
3. I hated that game and I hate this one too. Basically, the Clefairy
teacher shows you a sequence of buttons and you have to repeat it. If you
mess up you'll get bonked on the head and lose a little HP. Lose all your
HP and you're out! The last Clefairy standing wins. The only sure-fire
way to win this game is to write down the list of commands on a sheet of
paper; of course, if you're playing against your friends this is probably
not an option! In that case, just try to find patterns in the command
sequence. Remembering the commands in groups of 2, rather than individually,
also helps.
This game is basically a race between you and three other Rattatas. Just
press the A button as quickly as possible to run, and hit C-up to jump
over the hurdles in your way. The position of the hurdles changes with
each race, so there's no point in trying to memorize a pattern. Keep an
eye on the edge of the race track. That way, you'll see the hurdles before
you get too close to them, and you'll be able to jump them without tripping.
I still don't fully understand this game, and it's really hard to explain...
Just uhhhh watch the pendulum and make sure you hit the A button as soon as
it passes over the needle. If you hit the A button when the pendulum is
NOT over the needle, or if you fail to hit the A button as the pendulum
passes over the needle, you'll get sleepier. The last Drowzee awake wins. As
the game goes on, the pendulum starts swinging faster. When it gets too
fast to keep up with it, just rapidly tap the A button. Don't do this when
the pendulum is still swinging slowly - you'll just fall asleep faster!
The idea of this game is to power-up your Pikachu or Voltorb before the
others do. Rapidly tap the button that is the same color as the lamp in
the middle (A for blue, B for green). The lamp will change color every
few moments, so pay attention! If you tap the wrong button, you'll lose
power! One thing that REALLY helps is to use one hand for tapping the
B button and the other for tapping the A button. The first one to fully
fill up their power meter wins!
This is my favorite of the games, particularly for the hilarious sound
effects in the background! Anyway, the goal here is to out-spend the
other Lickitungs by eating the most expensive sushi. You should try
to eat as many dishes as possible, but don't eat the green stuff - it'll
burn your mouth! If you eat two or more of the same sushi in a row, the
points you get will greatly increase, so try to concentrate on one kind
of sushi for a while. However, don't wait around for the most expensive
stuff to come by - your rivals will be busy eating more sushi and racking
up bigger points! Besides, the most expensive sushi doesn't come around
that often.
The tricky thing in this game is to tilt your Control Stick just the
right amount. If you tilt it too far, you'll overshoot the Diglett
you were aiming for; if you don't tilt it enough, you won't make it
at all! Try to pull the stick far back for the Digletts in the back
row, and just a tiny bit for the ones in the front. Occasionally a
golden Diglett will pop up - it's worth two points! Also remember that
Ekans can bounce, so it might end up rebounding off the side of one
Diglett and onto another.
The longer you keep the A button pressed, the longer you'll run out of
HP - so go easy on it! The best tip for this game is, rather than watching
your Metapod, to watch the shadows of the boulders. As soon as the shadow
is right over top of your Metapod, hit A! It takes a while to get a hang
of the timing, but once you do, you'll be able to survive for quite a long
time. Beware of multibple-boulder salvos. If two or more boulders come
at you VERY quickly, it might be a good idea to just keep the A button
held down throughout the shower, rather than risking getting squashed
because you couldn't react fast enough between boulders.
The name of this game says it all - the goal here is to be the first
Sandshrew to dig to water! This game is very similar to the Yoshi Races
from Super Mario RPG. Just alternate between the L and R buttons and try
to keep with the rhythm. If you hit the same button twice in a row, your
Sandshrew will slow down a LOT, giving your rivals a chance to get ahead.
