Bishop Fred T. Simms
Heart of God Ministries

Bishop Fred T. Simms is an outstanding anointed man of God for today's Church.—to take us into the new age.

Mr. Simms was saved April, 1977. He was ordained as a deacon in October 1977. Deacon Simms began to fulfill the call of God on his life on December 18, 1977 by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Elder Simms served as Assistant Pastor of New Jerusalem Holiness Church in Beckley, WV for 14 years. Then God gave him instructions to start a ministry "from the ground up." The dream was fulfilled on February 1993. God blessed and moved in a mighty way and allowed Heart of God Ministries to construct and build their present church building in three years time.

Elder Simms was ordained a Bishop on November 1997 by the Apostolic Faith Churches of Jesus Christ.

Bishop Simms is married to Marilyn Simms and together they have five daughters and four grandchildren.

Bishop Simms' main goal is to reach the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to bring people into a place in the Spirit of true Praise and Worship.

"
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD" (Is. 54.17).

Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.(Psalms 119:105)

If I say, "I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,"
there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones,
and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot. (Jeremiah 20:9)

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

(Psalms 34:1-10)

Praise Ushers in the Presence of God
(and His power)

DEFINITION: Presence—fact or condition of being present.

"Praise is an expression which ushers in the Holy Spirit, who is the presence of the Lord, and who carries us into true worship."
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23,24)

"But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel." (Psalms 22:3 )

When the Spirit of the Lord (presence of the Lord) comes in, the power of the Lord is present do his mighty works.

One day as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law, who had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem, were sitting there. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick. (Luke 5:17)

By What or Whose Power?

15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.
21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. (2 Chronicles 20:15,17,21,22)

Not by Human or Natural Power or Effort!

11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? (1 King 19:11-13)

"Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6 )
