Lucas Motorsports originated in 1961 by Hubie Bass, the late Pude Lucas, and Owen Spradling. They had a dream of building a racecar to compete in the local dirt track races. By the early 60's their dream of racing had become a reality. In the 70's they started displaying the kind of cars it takes to be a winner in this sport. Then the 80's came along and so did the expense of auto racing. Even with the rising cost Lucas Motorsports still continued its dominance on the local level. The team had expanded their racing to other regions in Ohio and Kentucky, as they progressed to the 90's. Over the years Lucas Motorsports has had numerous talented drivers. Some of the drivers include: Hubie Bass, the late M.D. Marshall, Frank Prince, Gene McNeely, Richard (ROHO) Lofferty, Larry Miller, and Randy Boggs. With this quality of drivers gracing the seat it is no wonder Lucas Motorsports has over 150 plus victories. Today the team is still going strong with Rusty Bassand Eddie Lucas as its staunchest supporters, and the driving skills of Rick Lucas help make this a successful team in the new millennium. Little did the three country boys from 40 years ago know that they were forming something that would carry out through all these years! Racing for all of us here at Lucas Motorsports seems to fall in a line of what they call a "Family Tradition" that everyone would be lost without. We would like to thank all of our family, friends, and fans who have stuck by and supported us for the last 40 years. |
