Very little information exists on this maker. The squares are marked with or without an Eagle, brass star, the maker name and with or without the city name. He is listed in the 1850 U. S. census as a moulder, age 22. Born in Germany. A moulder (molder) is a person who make molds used in casting metal.
In 1855 the company won an award from the Middlesex Co. Agricultural Society for squares and bevels.
