Tools Made: Draw knives, plane irons, chisels, wrenches and washer cutters.

Working Dates: C1885-87.   Decertified 1905. Ref. 64 Page 520.

     The company probably started earlier. The first reference I have is from the 1885-86 city directory. Note in the Ad below the name on the tools is "GLOBE". In the 1887-88 city directory Clarence P. Bonfoey is listed as manager.

2 1/8 inch plane iron

Marked on the outside "MIDDLESEX M'F'G. CO. MIDDLETOWN, CT. U.SA"

and inside the circle "BALDWIN WARRANTED"

The Globe Mfg. CO. mark on their plane iron is similar to this mark. View C.

The chisels have three different marks.

Mark 1: MIDDLESEX MFG. CO. 1 line.

Mark 2: MIDDLESEX MFG. CO. / MIDDLETOWN, CT. 2 lines

Mark 3: MIDDLESEX MFG. CO. / MIDDLETOWN, CT. / WARRANTED 3 lines.
