While there is much debate in the historical community about the actual causes of World War II, about who was responsible, what might have prevented it, or what exactly went wrong, there is a strong desire to understand it. We research the life of Adolph Hitler, memorize the numbers of Jewish people and others that were victims of the merciless Holocaust, and we find ourselves all too often going in circles. Within these pages I will attempt to lay out the basics so that those who do not understand what historians know of the causes of World War II can hopefully establish a working understanding of the world that brought about this "unprecedented" horror.


I am in the process of doing research for this page, which will be geared toward the causes of World War II. It will be progressive, and I plan to add to it whenever possible. Please check back as soon as possible, and feel free to browse my suggested links for more information. I know it has been a long time, but I'm actually back to work on it. I am also aiming to respond to emails and guestbook signings with suggestions (although I unfortunately cannot do anything about the pop-up advertising).
