Nationalism
One of the greater forces contributing to the power of the Nazi regime in Europe was Hitler's ability to use propaganda to promote German nationalism. Since the Treaty of Versailles and the chagrin it had caused the German nation, the people were desperate for a source of belief in themselves. Hitler capitalized repeatedly on this need through clever use of propaganda and his definition of the Germans as the purest of all races, the creators of the greatest inventions of all time. . . the Aryan race.
