Family Service Center
The Family Service Center (FSC) was established to enrich the lives of all community members, single or married, by improving access to reliable and useful information and by providing a wide range of resources, services and education. Everything done by the FSC is designed to improve the quality of life for military members, their families, retirees and DoD civilians.
Emphasis has been placed on creating a "one-stop" location to obtain information and services, to increase communication and to minimize confusion, frustration, and wasted time while seeking the services offered in the community, both civilian and military.
The Intercultural Relations office promotes positive relations between the U.S. civilian and military component and host nation by acculturating newcomers to customs, language, money, history and geography of the Neapolitan community. This reduces stress and positively assists with adaptation of newcomers to the area, improving morale and promoting readiness.
The Information and Referral (I/R) program offers the community a complete one stop concept in finding out the A-Z's of your new duty station. The I/R coordinator assists individuals with addresses and phone numbers for stateside agencies and important state/county points of contact. If you need questions answered or need assistance of any kind contact I/R.
The Spousal Employment Assistance Program (SEAP) is a Navy-wide program for family members of military ID card holders. Services include information and guidance on resume writing, applications for government service, interviewing techniques, and career planning.
The Volunteer Program in Naples offers meaningful work for those wishing to make friends and contacts, and maintain or improve job skills. Documented volunteer work may be used on future resumes. A wide variety of volunteer opportunities are available.
The Relocation Assistance Program provides counseling, workshops and assistance to personnel experiencing the relocation process and provides weekly orientations to the area for newcomers. This group of highly trained military and civilians also provides "Smooth Move" classes as well as sponsorship training so that new personnel can adapt more quickly to a foreign environment, and other assistance designed to help members of all services and DoD civilians.
The Transition Assistance program consists of DoD-sponsored, five-day seminars which help ease the transition of separating and retiring personnel into civilian life. The course includes information on benefits, VA assistance, resume writing, job search assistance and interviewing techniques.
New Parent Support Team (NPST) assists new parents and their children with useful information and help. NPST sponsors a "Parent and Tot" play group and makes home visits to ensure physical and emotional health.
The Navy has as one of its first responsibilities the protection and safety of all personnel. The Sexual Assault and Victim Intervention Coordinator guides victims through the necessary steps to report and prosecute perpetrators of assault.
The Youth Outreach Worker interfaces with both Morale, Welfare and Recreation's Teen Center personnel and the DoDDs schools on base to ease the transition of youth and adolescents to a new environment.
The Victim Services Specialist serves as an aid to victims of domestic violence and works closely with the Family Advocacy Representative at the hospital and with the Legal office, in addition to being visible in the community.
The Family Service Center also provides:
