Summer 2001 at the Logitech Ice Center
Spring 2001 saw many changes for the Lightning. The first being the formation of an ice hockey team after many years of inline hockey. The expanded roster requirements added many new faces, and the Bay Area's crazy economy saw some friends depart. Strong goaltending and flashes of offensive prowess carried the lightning to a respectable 7-3-3 record and 4th place finish. But inexperience and the new team chemistry were exposed in a first round playoff exit. With one season of ice hockey complete and the return of the entire roster, an even more competitive Lightning team looks forward to the Winter season.
