My website theme song, The Great Crush Collision March, was written by Scott Joplin to commemorate my husband's great uncle Bill Crush's ill fated grand event in Waco, Texas. As stationmaster of the Katy railroad, uncle Bill proposed that two old steam engines, which were to be scrapped, be crashed into each other at great speed. He proposed that tickets be sold to the general public and that a grand event be made of this collision. Several thousand people attended the event. Unfortunately, the impact of the two big engines was so great that flying parts caused the injury of some people present.
