ben is the newest member of the dumblebees...on the position of bass meister..yea...i'll put more info and a pic on the new site when its up.
jason jason is the drums, he keeps the beat going, he eats his own vomit between songs, and he has eating habits similar to hannibal lecter... well those last parts aren't true as i'm sure you could have guessed, but anyways he's a good drummer and stuff like that so it's all rad.

pj brings the horn...he plays trumpet in a few covers and possibly even a song or 2 of our own. woo go ska influences. yea man...ska is great.
what is there to say about ryan? he co-wrote "overweight and underpaid" with me, and uhhh...he's definitely irish! oh yea and he is definitely starring in a movie that me and him are writing. i play a bum and he's ted powerpunch...i've said too much though.

our bands history...and stuff
let's see...it was september of 2003...darrin and me had been trying to get a band going for some time and it just wasn't happening because we were lacking a drummer. on september 22nd (i think) during art class, jasmyn the stinky introduced me to ben, who had just moved here from winnipeg. i told him about this band thing and said we didn't have a drummer. so he said he would play drums for us, and we agreed.
but that never happened, ben decided we should get a better drummer, and he found us that drummer. jason, to be precise. a few weeks later or something we "scheduled" our first practice in ben's garage. darrin hated jason at the time, and he had to work on the first night we were going to practice. so ben picked up his bass and played for that night. we decided it sounded good, and replaced darrin with ben. we had practiced a few times and were getting used to each others playing styles. around this point (mid-october) ben left the band to pursue dreams of a hardcore band with chris gerritzen (formerly of the lotus gun) and dan donald. the search for a new bassist was on.
jason and me drew up some posters in our computer apps class. i can't quite remember what they said, but there weren't very specific (to this date only one person has replied). we had a birthday party show coming up, so i asked EVERYONE if they knew anyone who played. jas told me that her boyfriend at the time, lochie, played bass. so we asked him to come practice with us and he agreed to...except he never did. now there was ONE day until the show and we had no bassist. great, eh?
then along comes brodie. i met him 2 hours before our show, jason had gone to school with him before that. he was alright, he played the songs (all other bands stuff, we didn't have our own stuff at the time) and we had tons of fun playing the show, no matter how little interest the audience showed (thanks to jas, chris, and jodi, you guys more than made up for everyone else hah). a few more weeks went by, and we could tell that we were heading in seperate directions than brodie was.
this brings us to about january, 2004. then new year. the big '04....yea well about this time we welcome darrin back into the band. darrin and me are talking on msn this one day and i called him a dummy or something, and then he called me a dumblebee...thats how we got the name, as lame as it sounds. we've got a buncha songs and we're almost ready to start recording some crap. hooray for us.
