Activities
of ZUAFA
Zanzibar
University Accounting and Finance Association have the
following well-thought action plan activities to enhance
research, creativity and community involvement and
development.
The activities includes:
(a)
Taking-Accounting-To-the-People (T.A.P)
The
aim of this activity is to create awareness among the
business community the need and importance of keeping a
simple accounting records.
We
organize a visit to various part of Zanzibar town to
enlighten business communities on the need and
importance of accounting.
(b)
Global thinker and Brainwaves award
To enhance
student creativity and intellect development we will
organize a competition where we ask student to come up
with an idea on how to solve a certain problem(s)
relating to organization/company/association or writing
a research on a particular issue or any entrepreneurial
skills displayed. On the basis of originality, how it
addresses a given problem and how it helps the society
we issue a certificate or give some token of
appreciation.
(c)
Environmental Program
This
entail tree planting in various part of Zanzibar and
also organize a cleaning day as part of beautification
and preservation of our environment.
(d)
Website activities
We
wish to design our own website to facilitate in
collections of materials for our Library through online,
place our activities on the web for other stakeholders
to get access to, to place students results on the web
for ease of access and to publicize the association far
and wide.
(e)
Newsletter
We
realize dissemination of information to students and
other stakeholders is of paramount importance. This will
enhance students’ creativity and also improve their
skills and instill confidence.
(f)
School program
In
our effort to motivate, instilling art of hardworking,
bestow their hope in life and helping them to achieve
their noble goals of joining university, we shall visits
various public schools to couch or guide students in
form five and six who are taking accounting, economics
and commerce. This we shall conduct it for free as part
of our campaign to fight illiteracy in Zanzibar.
(g)
Career progress award
In
order to encourage and enhance students academic
excellence in accounting and finance, we shall organize
an award inform of either cash or certificates for best
students in Auditing, Advanced financial accounting,
Taxation, Intermediate accounting, managerial
accounting.
(h)
Other non-academic activities
In our effort to educate,
guide and help our society, we will play other
non-academic roles such us:
Ø
AIDS awareness
campaign. We shall organize a rally, a play & drama
to sensitize people about AIDS, public lecture and AIDS
FREE DAY in Zanzibar town.
Ø
Charity Walk day. To
help our brothers and sisters to shall establish a small
endowment fund. This can be organized through
charity-walk day, contributions, donations etc so that
we can feed, teach and clothe our unfortunate member of
our society.
