Davi's Summer Joys!

We have a small collection of Nymphea, Decorative and Collarette species of Dahlias, as well as some Cacti and Ball species, which are all thriving and providing a constant supply of beautiful blooms.

Dahlia Delights

Here is one of our Decorative species called "Edinburgh" with her large showy flowers that are almost the size of dinner plates! Her deep burgundy and white colours are vivid and she's been flowering continuously for over three months. With my Scottish heritage, this flower is naturally a firm favourite of mine.

Glorious Glyndon

This prolific flowering Nymphea species of Dahlia is called "Glyndon" and provides many cut flowers. She first appears with deep pink tones softening in full bloom to a pale salmon/pink with a creamier heart. The combination of Glyndon with another Nymphea species, the petite white "Snow Cap" proves most successful as a floral gift.

Snowy Alaska

Here is one of our ball species of Dahlias, the snowy white "Alaska", which continues to produce large, compact blooms with a diameter of approximately 6" (15 cm). With many buds still to open, we look forward to a continued showing during our Autumn season.

Peaches and Dreams!

Another Summer venture has been to plant our first double Hollyhocks. Pictured above is a beautiful specimen called "Peaches and Dreams" bursting into bloom as an underplanting to our gumtrees. How I love her name!

Silhouette of Summer

As Summer draws to its close, clear Summer days can lead to beautiful sunsets.

This silhouette of Australian gum trees (Eucalypts) is typical of such evenings and brings its own special joy to us.

Imagine soft sea breezes, the sounds of birdsong in the tree-tops and the aroma of eucalyptus and I hope you too can enjoy one of our Australian sunsets.
