Meeting up with the Gang!
There are 3 seasons of Tenchi Muyo. They're called Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe and Tenchi in Tokyo. Sometimes, they get confused, so here is the information on how the group came to meet!!
Tenchi Muyo
Tenchi Muyo starts off with Tenchi visiting the Masaki Shrine. In it, there is the mummy, Ryoko. He accidently tampers with it and sends the mummy free. Tenchi thinks all is well, until Ryoko shows up after school. She chases after him, almost blowing him up. [It's pretty funny, actually]. He was able to cut off Ryoko's hand with a light sword that his grandfather gave him, which held her power gem. Without it, she wasn't able to do too much more damage (though she was able to restore her hand). But, it's not over yet! When Tenchi get's home, he finds Ryoko in his house!! Aeka makes her appearance when she's tracking Ryoko. Ryoko was actually a space pirate who did major damage to Jurai a long time ago. Aeka takes Tenchi and Ryoko aboard to question them. On Aeka's ship, Tenchi meets her little sister, Sasami. Sasami is just looking for some fun, so she lets Tenchi out of his tree-prison with the agreement that Tenchi would take off Aeka's headpiece while she was sleeping. But Aeka woke up while he was getting it off. He set Ryoko free so that they could leave in her spaceship. Ryoko called her spaceship, Ryo-Ohki, and transported Tenchi and herself to it. Unfortunately, Aeka and Ryoko got into a powerful spaceship war. So strong, that Aeka's ship, Ryuou, and Ryo-Ohki crashed into a lake on Earth. Both ships were destroyed, so Aeka, Ryoko, Sasami, Kamidake (gaurdian of Aeka), and Azaka (gaurdian of Aeka) were stranded on Earth. So everyone stayed at Tenchi's house!! After some tension had worn away (besides the one between Aeka and Ryoko), they met a space police woman named Mihoshi. Mihoshi had been on the trail of Kagato when she crashed into earth. Just before the end of the Battle with Kagato, Mihoshi accidently released Washu, the evil scientist, who was frozen. And that's how the gang met! Sadly, Kiyone isn't introduced yet...
Tenchi Universe
Tenchi Universe starts out where Tenchi meets Ryoko, who is being chased by a mechanical suit. Ryoko forces Tenchi onto her side and says that the mechanical suit is a space pirate, and that she was an innocent victim. Later on, we find out that the mechanical suit belongs to Mihoshi, the not so bright galaxy police officer, and that Ryoko is the true space pirate. But Mihoshi forgets the rights to tell the prisoner before they can arrest them, that she should have learned by heart. Mihoshi ends up NOT arresting Ryoko. But Mihoshi had also sent out an emergency signal which was picked up by the Princess Aeka. But as soon as Aeka saw Ryoko, they immediately started a spaceship duel. During the duel, the ships were destroyed. Aeka was trapped on Earth, but not long after the duel, Sasami (Aeka's little sister) came to bring her home to their planet (Jurai). Everyone decides to stay at Tenchi's house!! Tenchi didn't exactly invite them, but he couldn't turn them down. Ryoko tried to seduce Tenchi into the Masaki Shrine. However, Aeka found them and quickly started a battle with Ryoko. All of the energy blasts and destruction released "The Demon". In reality, the Demon was Washu, an evil scientist who was banished in a frozen rock. And so Washu adds herself to the Masaki household!! Then, Kiyone (Mihoshi's partner, though Kiyone hates her partner and was glad when she found out that Mihoshi had been "destroyed chasing after Ryoko...") found Mihoshi on planet Earth. Immediately spotting Ryoko, Kiyone attempts to arrest her and to take Mihoshi back to Headquarters. She failed, then they recieve a message that they are re-assigned to Earth. And the gang is yet again formed!!
Tenchi In Tokyo
Though the meeting scene doesn't reveal itself until a flashback when Tenchi comes home, this is what happened... Aeka along with Sasami, Kiyone, Mihoshi, Kamidake, and Azaka were chasing down Washu and Ryoko. Ryoko's ship was running low on energy, and they found an enormous energy source (which were Tenchi's crystals that his mom had given him). They crash land on Earth, where Tenchi meets Sasami and witnesses the battle. Aeka and Ryoko (not surprisingly, since they're rivals in each season) start a big battle. Ryoko gets a hold of "The Jurai power" and transforms into a monster. Tenchi is able to defeat her with his lightsword, but later cares for her until Ryoko is back to full strength. This is when Ryoko turns good and starts to fall in love with Tenchi, and everyone decides to stay with Tenchi! They were each given one of Tenchi's powerful crystals as a gift...
