THANK YOU - FATHER ABE

I am of the Catholic faith, and there is only one Catholic Church in Staunton, VA. Where I am from in the Philippines, it is quite common for parishioners to take their problems to the local Priest, especially when the problem involves someone else in the parish. In good faith, I tried to do that. I went to the Priest, Father Abe, seeking help, thinking that he might be able to speak with Ailen. I explained the situation, telling him that she had committed perjury by lying to the Judge. Instead of offering to help, Father Abe dismissed my statement by saying, “That is your story.” Knowing that I was telling the truth, I asked for his help, asking that he at least discuss the matter with her.

Months passed and I never heard anything back from Father Abe, nor from Ailen Candelaria Carton Clemmer. I asked my husband to contact Father Abe to see if he could find out anything. My husband sent an e-mail, reminding him of my visit and inquiring if he knew of any further developments.

Father Abe responded by e-mail stating that he did not feel that it was his place to assume the role of a Local Priest and mediate the situation. He explained that he witnessed a loving, caring family that came to his Church to worship. He went on to ask, why do people come to him with such problems, and what special powers do these people think a Priest has.

My husband responded to the e-mail explaining, most of his parishioners consider him to be their closest link to God. As such, the Priest has the responsibility to minister to each and everyone of the Faith, not only the local congregation. My husband reminded Father Abe of the Good Shepard who had 100 sheep in his flock. When the flock returned the Shepard only counted 99 sheep and knew one was not accounted for. The Good Shepard left the Ninety and Nine to search for the lost sheep and did not return until the lost sheep was found. My husband also explained to Father Abe that he only witnessed the good side of evil, while others were forced to live with the evil side of good. Father Abe did not respond to the second e-mail.

It is for this very reason that I am adding this page. I want to thank the Catholic Priest Father Abe for absolutely NOTHING!
