The sky is gray and dreary,
And moods are oh, so glum;
But then I think to myself,
Hold on, the best is yet to come.

Spring will bring the sunshine,
And flowers, we'll savor some;
The days will grow longer,
Hold on, the best is yet to come.

Days are often filled with problems,
In the cupboard is not a crumb;
But this promise I can make,
Hold on, the best is yet to come.

The bank account may be empty,
And the job may not be plum;
It seems the world is against us,
Hold on, the best is yet to come.

This life is a rough road,
And often we feel so dumb;
But God is with us all the way,
Hold on, the best is yet to come.

When this life comes to an end,
And of our life He checks the sum;
The Lord will look at us and smile,
Hold on, the best is yet to come.

Life can get really rough but I have learned that if we hold on to the promises of our Lord, we can make this trip through life with a smile. We have a promise of a better life.
