New Year 08

2008 quickly approaches,
With adventures and new tales to tell;
I pray the year is happy,
And all I love will be well.

Every year I begin anew,
What will be in my book this year?
Will it be filled with laughter and joy,
Or filled with heartache and tears?

Will life take a dramatic turn,
Or keep its status quo?
I pray for a chance to work for God,
And reveal His love to all I know.

This year will bring forth a new life,
As a new generation appears,
A baby is such a blessed gift,
And we will hold him dear.

The years go by so fast it seems,
Where have they all gone?
I remember raising children,
And seeing sunsets and many a dawn.

But life passes so quickly,
I do not want to miss a day;
I want to spread the Lord's good news,
And love all in His special way.

I pray 2008 is filled with joy,
And salvation for every soul;
May God bless this country of mine,
And bring sinners to the fold.

This will be a fantastic year,
Filled with joy and pain;
But if one new person I can love,
The year is filled with gain.
