reflections

My reflection has changed,
I'm not young anymore;
But life is far from over,
I'm opening a new door.

Life will find me busy,
But in a different way;
I won't come to work,
But I will cherish each day.

When the reflection was young,
I had children to raise;
But they've flown to new heights,
And the past is a haze.

The years have flown by,
And now I have come;
To a new gate on the path
That often frightens some.

A new life begins,
One at a slower pace;
I've spent enough time
Running in the rat race.

I'll have more time with God,
And my grandchildren, too;
I'm going to retire,
I wish you could, too.
