Our organization has the wide connections with state and church archives not only in Belgorod but in Moscow, St.Petersburg and many other places all over Russia. In 1708 according to the administrative reform of Peter the Great Belgorod was attached to the Kiev Province. In 1727 under the order of Empress Catherine I the Belgorod Province was founded, it included the Belgorod, Orel and Sevsk regions. The first governor of the Belgorod Province was Prince Trubetskoy. In 1732 there were 33 towns in the Belgorod Province. But in the reign of Catherine II, in 1779 the Belgorod Province was abolished and its regions became the parts of the Kursk and Voronezh Provinces and Belgorod became the center of the Belgorod District of the Kursk Province. Now Belgorod is the centre of the Belgorod Oblast (Province). The Belgorod Province includes the following regions:
