Welcome to CIN

The Canberra Injectors Network was formed early in 1997 in response to a lack of peerbased, peer controlled education services in Canberra, ACT, Australia. We as drug users were unwilling to give up any more of our power, and so decided to form an organisation that put OUR needs first.

We elected an interim board of management and put in a tender for funding to the ACT Department of Health and Community Care for their Peer Education Services for Drug Users project. The CIN office opened its doors in July 1999.

The services we offer are:

1. Office-based peer education and support.
2. A primary needle exchange outlet.
3. An Outreach Service for injecting or illicit drug users in suburban Canberra.

Would you like *Further Information*. on our services we offer?

Our office is located in Room G33 at the rear of the Griffin Centre in the City (opposite Gus's Outdoor Cafe).

CIN is a relatively new organisation, and we welcome new members and clients. You can find out more about joining CIN* here. You do not have to be a member of CIN to access our services.

Our central philosophy is that Drug Users CAN and SHOULD control our own education. CIN has a hugely diverse member population. We are capable and qualified in many areas of health education, and we believe that the best way to get the message across is from within our communities. That's why we need YOU to be involved. If you are an illicit or injecting drug user or a supporter of our *aims and objectives*, think about joining CIN, or getting involved with our program.
