(01/27/2003): Its a new year and its snowing like fucking crazy in Johnstown. I also just realized that this place is a cultural wasteland. Anyway I hope to have some new snowboarding pictures up soon.

(10/29/2002): Today is quite a sad day for me. This is the first news that i've put up since way back in the summer but nothing ever happens around here so nothing is being missed. However I have just found out that Fenix Tx, originally known as Riverfenix, has offically broken up. Being 2 days after a kick ass New Found Glory show I thought it would be cool to check up on the band that got me into that kind of music in the first place. On Drive-thru Records site it is in the news section. No details are given but they do confirm that this has happened. So here goes a well deserved moment of silence for a band that while not totally popular made it possible for bands like New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, and Midtown to get out there and get their music heard. Basically without a band such as Fenix Tx you wouldn't see the kind of music on tv that you do now.

In unrealted skate park news, Smitty is on the 14 day disabled list with 20+ stiches in his right shin. The two layer gash left nothing to the imagine as to what a shin bone looks like under the skin. He should be back up too par as soon as possible though. The good news is that because 30 seconds or so after he fucked himself up he passed out and fell onto his head. The CT scan, CAT scan or whatever, actually showed the popular demand he has a brain. Way to go Smit! (5/9/2002): Well its safe to say that no one cares about my news section. Really there just isn't enough shit going on to have a good section but i'm going to keep doing it anyway. Summer is upon us once again in the burgh, and everyone knows what that means... RAIN. Then after rain days that are too hot to leave your house, sounds good to me. Well as far as I know Shadyskates new park 885 is still NOT open, for a place that wanted to be open by Janurary 1st the are sure on the ball huh? However I've talked to a few people that have skated there already and I here its going to be well worth the wait. Mckinely is still open for day skating since the cheap ass city bastards won't turn on the lights. The coping is a little slow but i'm sure as more people start skating there it'll get better. Everyone have fun and wear some damn pads too, I took a good shot in the knee while wearing pads and i'm out for at least a week. So the moral of the story is don't be stupid.

(2/6/2002): I hate western PA. Honestly unless you are a bmx rider this is the worst place for anything. UPJ is nice but snow comes and goes almost as bad as pittsburgh, no new pictures yet but hopefully soon. Also anyone intrested in skating out this way there is a pretty nice park in altoona pa, called Mad Lines it has a pretty decent 6 foot halfpipe and a pretty badass street course.

(12/21/2001): Damn i'm a slacker.. its been almost two months without a news update. Well to say the least thats cause nothing happens in this fucking city. Anyway today we got out first taste of snow. Nothing is sitting on the ground but springs is making it and if the weather stays the same we should be riding in a week or so. In other riding news Timmy P., Pete Ritchie and Ron Campana are currently in vermont mad snow and kick ass hits everywhere. Pictures from that will be up soon.

In everything else news... Smitty is moving out of pittsburgh to go to school at UPJ in johnstown. He'll be back to hit the new park now and then and school is over at the end of April so we haven't got rid of him for very long. If any ladies wanna stop by he'll be living in the LLC room 112, please for the love of god he hopes someone does. Mention this add and you'll get a free can of pop.
Smitty also fucked his knee and got 2 3 inch long razor cuts on his right hand. BEWARE THE QUAD RAIL someone fucked that thing up and put a nice little gash in it... and that gash will fuck up your hand big time if you grab it.

Shady skates offically closes their skatepark in 9 days. Its a sad day for old timers like me who remembers the good old days with the pizza shop down stairs and that old hip. I'll get over it though especially when 884 opens the same day. I haven't seen anything myself but i hear this 20,000 square footer is going to be pretty badass.

(10/30/2001):BOWL GOT A JOBAfter months of mouching and being a worthless peice of shit bowl finally now has some source of income. The fucker now works at toy r us in monroville. So anyone feel free to go bug the shit out of him, even if you don't know him.

(10/1/2001): In its about fucking time news, smitty actually pulled a handrail today. Shoulder injury and all he mizoued the steeper rail at the quad in Oakland. The good news is that he only feel hard enough to further injur his shoulder once, and he pulled the grind many times after that. This is where normally it would say good job, but after this long on your skates its about fucking time.

(9/24/2001): The good news is Smit's shoulder is not broke, the bad news is it still hurts like hell to move his right arm. Give him a week... tops.

(9/21/2001): As fate would have it smitty suffered a shoulder injury today. While skating at Mckinely, he decided to try a new trick. Fakie to invert. Well this almost went well when he nearly landed the first one he tried. The next attemp went a little sour. He got his hand on the coping feet in the air and feet came down alright however he was leaning to far over his skates. Now any skater can tell you what happens next. Falling foward from a 7 foot quarter to the ground directly onto your shoulder can mess you up pretty bad. No trip to the hospital has been made and tomorrow would be the soonest date he would go.... GOOD LUCK MAN!

(9/20/2001): Needless to say that summer is winding to a close once again here in Pittsburgh, the nights are getting colder and longer, and its raining. Well it rains here all the time but it still sucks. Soon it will be winter and that means two things. One is snowboarding. The other is Shadyskates. As it gets colder we hope to frequent there a little more often so hopefully we'll have some new shady pictures up as soon as possible.

(7/11/2001): Pittskaters goes animated. I am now working on puting up more movie style things on the site. since we all know mpeg files are super huge i'm going to just be making animated pictures, gifs. They are still big ass files but its pretty cool nonetheless. Here is the first one i have 270 to mizou stale by Smitty Look for more as summer progresses, and since the owner of the sequence shot camera we have is a snowboarder winter pictures are about to get sick.

(6/27/2001): Today I have decided that a new section is going to be added to the site. this section featureing odd pictures and even x-rays is going to be titled injury report. the first one I have is Smitty. on tuesday night around 12am he tried a true spin mizou stale on the sub-box out of the half-pipe. well both feet went over and he landed on his finger. this might have been the grossest thing ever some would say. Pictures will hopefully be up soon and x-rays are still in the process of being recieved from the hospital.

(6/02/2001): Today we ventured down to the old meeting place... shadyskates. After not being there for about 4 months I have to say that the place is looking quite good. In addition to what was there 4 months ago they have a new rainbow rail which might be the fastest thing around. They also have the box extended. Diffently worth checking out!

(5/12/2001): Well summer is in effect here in Pittsburgh, and Mckinley Skate park seems to be the place to go. The park is free, all the transitions are perfect, and the coping slides the best it possibly could. The downfalls are that it is metal. This means that since it is outside when you touch the metal you burn your hand. It is diffently worth checking out and its free so you won't lose anything if you don't like it. Just remember to bring your own drink. Beware though if its sunny out it will be about 15 degrees hotter in the park thananywhere else. This is downright unbearable after about 10 minutes. So try to avoid this spot on Extremely sunny days!!!!!

(4/11/2001): Put smitty up on the injured list again. Today at Mckinely skate park he tried a liu kang to fakie from the 7 foot quarter to the 5 foot quarter. Well to say the least he now has a not very good sprain in his good ankle. I give him a week at most.

(3/29/2001): Mad props go out to all the guys up at the wonderful University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown who survived pledging at DSC. Special props go out to Tim Petrina, Kurt, Short, Todd, and Crossy.

(3/10/2001): The 1975 Oldsmobile that now crusies around East Mckeesport belongs to Smitty. For the low price of $600 the 14 foot long boat is now his. Its comfortable, sounds half decent, and gets about 3 gallons to the mile. All in all its a pretty sweet ride, pictures will be up soon cause you have to see it to believe it.

In unrelated skater new Brandon Blake, the Area 51 BMX great just got a sweet 2001 trans am complete with ram air hood. However he then decided to make a blind left turn and hit a light pole causing $3000 worth of damage....Way to go Blake!

(3/5/2001): Well to eat my own words I have to say we just got a damn miricle here in Pittsburgh. It was starting to snow around 2:30 A.M. when we were at the O but as I woke up this morning I discovered at least 6 inches had fallen. If Tim ever calls me I'll have pictures of the rode stunt up. If I die doing this Bowl will take over the site, but its all in good fun or stupidity either or.

(2/25/2001): Well unless you believe in miricles the Snowboarding season here in Pittsburgh is done. Its been about 50 for the last two weeks and I personally have given up hope. So that leaves more time for college...... Yeah right Shady is still pretty awesome. After the 2 month absesce of skating it felt pretty good to hit the old park. All that is different is the grind rail by the little pipe is now a square rail and their is a little box in front of it. Other than that shady is still the same and a great place to be.

(2/01/2001): I little update on the Celica. The ladies car that Smit ran into has suffered $200 worth of damage completely covered by his insurance. However the celica has suffered unfixable destruction and will not be getting fixed(Click here for pictures). It is a sad day for anyone who has been in the celica, it will be missed.

(1/27/2001): The snowboarding comp that was supposed to be today was canceled. M3 the Company holding the comp canceled it last week cause it was like 50 degrees. Anyway their are 2 more snowboarding comps in feb at snozone. Hopefully i'll get the dates soon.

(1/18/2001): Smitty did it time. While driving home from a night class at the wonderful University Of Pittsburgh he ran right the fuck into the back of some ladies car. Although the ladies car suffered from extremely small scratches the 88 celica is totally FUCKED. The hood is all messed up and the front left light is M.I.A. hopefully the skating/Snowboarding Mobile will be fixed soon. Way to go Smit

(1/17/2001): I new snow crew member has been added, our good buddy Rob Ferrinolo is now an offical member. He's a skier but we like him anyway, so go check him out. There are also a bunch of new pictures up too... Except more as the season goes on.

(1/15/2001): Again this is the middle of winter and as Pittsburgh weather would have it it was 45 the other day. Man being a snowboarder in Pittsburgh Sucks. Anyway there is going to be a snowboarding competition at SnowZone on the 27th on Jan. Smitty and Tim are going to be among the people in the Comp. Tim took 1st the comp last year and hopes to do the same again, however smitty really has other plans for that. Since this Comp is at SnowZone and not shitty boyce were all hoping to see some good Pittsburgh talent.

(12/19/2000): This one is nonskating nonsnowboarding but thats alright. The myth about the whole fart into fire thing is not a myth. Yesterday Tim Petrina thought this to and just messing around tried it. Well their was an odd green flame that covered up most of his ass. Just thought I would dispell this as truth instead of the myth that everone thinks.

(11/20/2000): Again sorry for no news but there really isn't anything going on. The big news i have is that for all us Snowboarders Seven Springs is going to open this Friday. I hope to see all of you out there at the 9-5 session cause thats where i'll be. So have fun, and hopefully this will be the first day of a long session which we haen't had here in Pittsburgh for a while!!!!!!!

(10/10/2000):It has been decided that we are going on a road trip to cleveland ohio. The reason for this ids that 311 is going on tour with Zebrahead. The worse news is that they are not coming to Pittsburgh. So basically we are going there. We have two empty seats if anyone wants to go who has money can take being cut up on for 2 hours and can also with stand bowls manic driving. I would type my e-mail again but i don't fell like doin it cause its all over the place so find it and e-mail me.

(10/8/2000):Sorry for no recent updates. The thing is that I have not been skating enough and have been away from the whole scene and this is reflected in the quotes beening that all the new ones are my friends that don't skate. Hey i'm trying though and college is hard as hell you actually have to read!!!! Anyway I really trying to get somemore people up onto my site. So anyone who lives in the or right near Pittsburgh E-Mail Me with a profile and if you have some pictures on the computer thats awesome. Also I will be trying to get back to the scene.

(9/14/2000): INJURY REPORT- Smitty and Marc are both back. Both sesioned milliones today and I can say that we are both back to nearly 100%, With Marc pullin switch true-spin top souls, and Smitty ,trying, to pull True spin kind grinds.
I am also starting a boycot of the A+ right near Millions. Reason being that a Lady refused to sell me a twix bar for no good reason(but they were more than willing to give us some shitty chex mix). No one will ever join me in this but thats OK cause I already lost intrest, but I needed something else to put in my news section.

(9/13/2000): Rob and Bowl are offically addicted, and nopt just to ciggerettes anymore. This was the second time in 3 days that their goin to the nudie bar. Rob even called to make sure this one girl he saw last time would be there. Look guys there is better ways to spend your money. I hope they read this before its to late!!!!!!!!

(9/2000): Bowl finally did it. Only 3-4 months with his license(I'm not sure) he got into a wreck. While driving the Cavi(Ah bowl what were you thinkin) Bowl tried to go around a stopping car and didn't see a car coming up on his left. All the Caddy had was minor tail light damage however. Although this makes him the first one to get into an accident where the police became involved and insurence information was exchanged. Congradulations Bowl!!!!!!

(8/12/2000): Smitty can offically skate again. With a little help from Rob Pell, the owner of Shady, he straped on the creams and was busting some shit. A lot still hurt but the ankle is doing pretty well. He did have to stop to let the ankle just be in pain every 10 minutes but hey thats what happens when you break it.

The city of Pittsburgh opened their first public skate park yesterday. I haven't been their myself but a few people tell me it was pretty sweet. I outside park is all steel and is opposite what cheat skates used to be. If anyone remebers cheat skates was ALL rusty steel and all of the steel was badly poping up. However this new park was professional done by some guys from ohio. The only problem is location. The park is located in Beltzhoover. I've never been their myself but I hear it's a pretty bad neighborhood. However nothing happens in the day time so if your cruisin lookin for a place to skate why not check out this place. What do you have to lose, it's free!!!

(6/23/2000): The only thing I have for today is another injury! Smitty is out of Comission. Due to a tree stump left in Ferrinolo's yard Smitty will be on cruches for two weeks with an air cast. It was seemingly a good evening. While stopped at Rob's house to pick up a cd he avoided walking down the steps by jumping off the side. Being the experienced skater that he is Smit felt that it would be nothing the four step drop into grass. However the stump had other plans. We expect a quick recovery since.... well it just really sucks!!!

(6/16/2000): The Local Crew video is finished. The fifteen minute video is after all not that bad. While filled with bad edits and crappy special effects it's is quite intresting and worth watching. It has two regular sections, a Shadyskates section, and a crash section. The sound track of the video includes: 311 with Off Beat Bare Ass, Zebrahead with Check, and Get Back, Fat with What We Do, and Fenix*TX with Philosiphy. Rob Martin after seven months of loyal service to his employers at Taco Bell has found himself out of a job. It seems that the one time he tried to call off ,because of a "flat tire", they promptly removed him from the schedule. The good news is that aside from the three days of school per week he has he will spend the extra time skating. However he will still be nearly impossible to get a hold of !

Marc the Irwin skater, since I don't have his last name, has broke an arm. While tring an "Easy" sweatstance at Comp he slipped and then KABOOM. He has a cast almost to his elbow and will be making a come back in about three weeks.

Smitty after finally facing reality went out and bought new skates. The new pair of razor creams that has fallen into his possition are nice but have not filled the void left by the '97 5th elements that he so dearly charished. Also the '97 5th elements are not for sale so don't even bother asking him.

Zambo's plot to have a Skate park at East park has failed. While the old bunch of losers who make up the town concil though it was a good idea they made up some B.S. and basically told him to screw off. Thanx anyway Zambo!!!
