Anabelle

Anabelle

This is the best pic I have of Anabelle not long after I bought Her. Her oilchange schedule couldn't have been very good, because Her original 305LG motor was choked in sludge. Luckily Donor#2, an 81 Caprice Coupe had a slightly beefy 305, modified TH350 tranny, and posi rear end which all ended up in Annabelle right after this pic was taken:

So that this is what She looked like for awhile:

If you noticed that Her grille at this point was not 79 Impala issue then you're very sharp! It's actually Abigail's old 77 Caprice grille painted gloss black with a blue Bowtie sticker in the middle. I drove Her this way for a while and enjoyed Her deceptive speediness (She didn't even have dual exhaust at the time). But then I got bored with the common 305 and wanted something even peppier. So I bought this:

I got this motor from an aquaintance of mine along with a nice old non-lockup TH350 tranny and an MSD 6A ignition system. I won't say I got taken on this deal because the fellow actually gave me a lot for what he charged me. However the shop he had it rebuilt in didn't know what they were doing, because this motor was NOT ready to run, really. It is indeed a Corvette issue 1968 327 with 202 heads, and I've had it looked over by someone that knows these motors and know that it can be rebuilt back to original specs, or close if I wish. I'd actually like to see about 350HP when it's done. If anyone out there knows of a good, reputable machine shop that is fairly knowledgeable about pre-smog performance Chevy smallblocks, please e-mail me and let me know. Anabelle currently rests in the Farm with this engine within Her. There's lots that must be done on Her, including a FRAME REPLACEMENT. Parts of Her frame are so rotten that I will have to replace the entire thing. I would REALLY like to install Her body on a 94-96 Impala SS frame. I'm pretty sure this can be done, and if anyone has updated a boxy B-body with a later 350 LT1 & frame then again PLEASE e-mail me below.
