Vinny, The Impala From Hell

Vinny

OK, so that's a crappy enlarged picture, this I know. Probably the less I say about Vinny the better. Some people that have visited this site have no doubt formed some interesting opinions about me as it is. My close friends & family know Vinny's story, and why He's a He. When I first purchased this vehicle for a whopping $80 He was a Flintstonemobile, or roadkillviewmobile if you prefer. He had a 350 original, but this motor was LUNCH. I took this opportunity to get Abigail, my 350 police motor, off the ground and into a car. I then removed His old doors, gutted and disposed of all His old interior components, and replaced the entire interior including the dash with Donor #1's interior. I even swapped in the master wiring harness and fuse box so that the power bench seat, windows & doorlocks could be utilized. Before carpeting and seats were reinstalled though, I cut the skins off of his original doors, beat them into molded floor pans by hand, then riveted & fiberglassed them in place, thus resealing His entire floorpan. I then installed Donor #1's power doors. The result when I was done was a very luxurious, comfortable, and FAST 78 Impala Aerocoupe. His original nose was battered as well, so He wore Abby's 77 Caprice nose for awhile.

Finally on the way back from a trip to New Hampshire Abby started to emit a "popping" noise in Her passenger side cylinder head. So at an estimated 260k miles on Her, I pulled Her from Vinny again at Pete's garage. The pic above and 3 below are Vinny on his way in to do this, and Abby was actually running quite nicely when they were taken. She only "popped" when you revved Her.

The following pics quote my favorite heavy metal artist. To anyone that is a King Diamond fan, or if (gasp!) the King should see this Himself, I mean ABSOLUTELY no offense. In fact quite the contrary, I have nothing but the utmost respect for King and I feel He is one of the most intelligent lyricists in the world.

And that's Vinny's story up to now. He spent a few years at my friend Pete's house this way, then once I found & rented the Farm I had Him moved there:

As soon as I start working on old Vin again this page will be updated.
