Petrol too expensive? Get one of these

Economy without the sacrifices

All Metro models are remarkably fuel-efficiency, their advanced aerodynamic styling reducing drag to a co-efficient of only 0.41. The Metro HLE offers even more outstanding fuel economy - 60 mpg* at a steady 50 mph, for example - combined with style, comfort and a wealth of luxury equipment, including such items as Radio, analogue clock, 'split-action' rear seat, fabric upholstery, rear screen wash/wipe, halogen headlamps, reversing and two rear fog guard lamps. Fuel economy is commonly associated with sluggish performance and a poor top speed. Not so with the Metro HLE. This unique car accelerates briskly and its maximum speed is nearly 20 mph beyond the British legal limit!

What's more, Metro HLE economy doesn't end with lowered fuel bills. This cost-conscious car, like all Metros, only needs routine trips to the servicing bay once every 12,000 miles, say once a year for most drivers. Parts are inexpensive, the car has earned a low insurance rating and, with the added benefit of Supercover, total running costs will be dramatically reduced.

* AA test figures are 50 mph.

Metro HLE - economy without the sacrifices.

This is a totally great car. If petrol was some sort of finite resource that was going to run out in a couple of decades, then all cars would be like this. Plus it's got a radio! And a clock!
