Who Cares

For distortion, I prefer tube saturation. My amps provide this nicely. There are, however, sounds that I can't get out of my amps. The Big Muff provides a good bit of sustain and drives other effects nicely. I like it in front of a flange and some thick, wet, reverb. The FX86 Death Metal is a little over the top, as far as gain goes. dipping the bass and treble makes the meanest, grossest tone. Recently, I've been using the Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive. With the wet/dry mix at 50/50, it sounds good with humbuckers. It's got more power and presence than most distortions, even with the mix towards wet.

The Ibanez PS99 Super Phaser is a nice one. Switchable wave form, speed, depth, feedback, and effect level, make it versatile enough. The flange is a Digiplay FL-60. I've never heard of such a company in music and I've searched it extensively. If you know about it, drop me a line. It's a sweet flange, and it puts a nice metallic edge on tones when you drop down the depth. The wah is a Crybaby. Big whoop. I'm not a funk player, or a blues man, or a soloist in any regard. I'm afraid I don't even use it. But, that's me.

Ah, the good stuff; these are a few of my favorite things. The Boss RV-3 is excellent. I love the wet/dry mix. You can make really distant tones with it. Feeding drums through it is blah blah bla.........................................................................................................
