Pine Ridge For Life.
Goals:
To see that the Oglala Lakota people will know who Jesus is when they think of our fellowship. In the past their has been a process of acculturation and ethno-centric ideology. We have been chosen to give the gospel of Jesus Christ in a cultural setting that we are from.
Introduction:
Leon Matthews and Catherine Bianes founded the People Gathered to Pray. The Mennonite Brethren and their Home Missions Board originally founded the ministry. The Mission Board decided that it was time to allow the local Oglala Lakota leadership to assume leadership and handed the ministry over to the new Pastor in 1995.With the need for organization Mrs. Bianes and Pastor Matthews decided that it was time to begin the process of developing a Non-Profit Organization to fill the needs of the Oglala Lakota people on the Pine Ridge Reservation. We would love for you to help us reach our people for Christ.
Vision:
The OWO is a grassroots organization that is working to bring the gospel to the Lakota Nation. We offer a chance for people to develop a biblical relationship with the people in our community. Our goal is to build strong followers of Christ, in a world of confusion~Pastor Leon Matthews
