~*Chapter 1*~

"Hey Beej!" I exclaimed, turning into the driveway. After a long night about talking about the baby, Nick and I had decided it was best if we kept it. We might have to deal with a lot of pressure, but we knew we could handle it. Now, BJ and I were going to the mall, and we were both excited. "Hey! You ready?" BJ said, hopping in the passenger side.

"Yup," I said, backing out and heading to the mall.

"How much money did you bring?" BJ asked curiously.

"I had to practically beg Nick to give me money," I replied, rolling my eyes.

"Ha ha, now you two have to share the money," she teased.

"Yeah, but he gave me like... 50 bucks," I said.

"Oh... I brought 55," she said happily.

"You got your parents to give you that much?" I said in amazement. Usually the Carters would give a limited amount for the "mall fund". "Yup! I begged my dad cuz I said I was getting something good.." she said.

"Cool, for who," I asked.

"Aaron. It's his half birthday tomorrow," she said.

"Half birthday?!" I asked,

"What about Angel?"

"She doesn't care that much about half birthdays as much as Aaron. Anyway, I've gotta run. I'll meet you at Bath & Body Works in an hour," she said, as soon as I parked the car in a space. Before I could answer, she was gone. I slowly got out of the car, and started toward the mall. After a couple of minutes my feet hurt. "This baby is making the simplest things so hard," I mumbled to myself, reaching the front doors. I walked into different stores, just browsing, and I found some small candles. Since they matched mine and Nick's bedroom, I bought them. Then I started to browse for something for Nick. I spotted a cute Tommy shirt. I searched for his size, and bought it. I looked at my watch and decided it was time to go meet BJ. As I rounded a corner, I ran into her. "Hey! What did you get?" I asked.

"Oh, just something.." she said, her voice trailing off, "Here." She thrust a package into my hands.

"Hey, I thought it was for Aaron," I said.

"So I lied, sue me," she said, leading me to a bench. I slowly tore open the paper to reveal a whole set of different body lotions.

"Oh Beej, you shouldn't have," I said, holding back tears.

"Well I know you love things that smell good. Look, there's more," she said, pointing out a small cloth thing. I pulled it out to reveal a small baby bib.

"Oh Beej," I said, no longer able to hold back the tears.

"I thought you might need it... one of these days," she said quietly.

"I love it," I said, hugging her. I noticed a card, in front of the bottles, and opened it.

"This is to friends. Things may come between us, but we'll always be friends forever," it read. Then it was signed "BJ Carter".

"Beej, you don't know how much this means to me," I said. I searched around in my bags and came out with the candles.

"Here, I wasn't expecting anything, but I want you to have this as a token of my appreciation," I said.

"No way, it will match your room perfectly," she said, declining.

"Hey, how'd you know?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Just a little snooping, nothing big," she said, grinning.

"C'mon let's go," I said, standing up. After walking to the car, I leaned over to say something.

"Ya know what Beej?" I asked her.

"What?" she replied.

"I think I've got the best sister-in-law in the world. I couldn't have asked for anything more," I said.

"Me neither," she answered.
