-* New Archive READ IT FIRST READ IT NOW: New York, NY.- Popster Britney Spears was involved in a fight friday night, an apparent victim of her own big mouth. Spears was entering a party her record label, Jive, was throwing and was overheard by several people trashing the members of the Backstreet Boys, who happen to be her label mates. A witness said Spears was repeatedly heard making comments about the groups appearance on her own album. She also complained a great deal about their new album, trashing most of the songs off their third CD, Millennium, which incidentally has been sitting at number one on the Billboard charts for a month. She reportedly made a very offensive remark about one particular track, The Perfect Fan, a song written by Backstreet Boys Brian Littrell about his mother. Spears called the song "Crap" and continued bashing it even as Littrell, who was arriving at the party himself, passed. Witnesses overheard Littrell saying he was going to ignore her, apparently the same didn't go for his guest. Leighanne Wallace, Littrell's girlfriend of several years confronted Spears about her comments and they got into a heated argument. Spears tried to attack Leighanne without any success before Wallace swung out at Spears, sending her crashing down on the carpet below knocking her out cold. Littrell took his girlfriend by the hand and pulled her away from Spears into the building. Wallace, as she entered the party, was overheard yelling at Spears "Want to be hit one more time!" a clever reference to the Spears song Hit me baby one more time After Spears was revived, she left the party with no comments. No lawsuit is pending as of yet. This reporter thinks she got was she deserved.

OK, did u know that Devon Kirkpatrick (Chris Kirkpatrick's dad from *N SYNC) was one of the asistant engineers for "The Perfect Fan?" How do I know this is true? It says so in the credits! Is that weird or what? Geez, man, they keep surprising me!
BSB clothing line... unconfirmed!!, (This was sent in by a member, I have no other info on it, and it isn't confirmed) okay i dont know if this is true or not but I work at a Sears and i was talking to a friend of mine and he said the manager said something about sears getting their own Backstreet boy clothing line this fall and it was going to look like something out of J Crew.
Best Concert Seats Jenny, the owner or bsboys.com wanted me to inform you guys of this. When you're buying concert tickets, don't shoot for first row... they're reserved for friends and family. The best seats are 1st row, ELEVATED. That's, like, the first row of seats that's raised above the floor. But, if you're dying to get floor seats, 6th or 8th row is pretty good. (Note from Editor: Remember that the seating varies from venue to venue, so try to nab a layout of the stadium to scope where the best seats would be). You can reach Jenny's page here: www.bsboys.com
A Little Extra BSB... (sent in by a member) In the August edition of Teen Celebrity there is a 16 page pull out book of BSB with a lot of good info about the whole "girlfriend" thing
BSB in the Zeether (sent in by a member) I was watching the Disney Concert again yesterday and they announced that a "mystery" Backstreet Boy will be chatting in the Zeether. I dunno who it is. But its on July 26. You can sign up at www.zoogdisney.com.
The Offspring Beat The Boys At 'The Offspring's' Concert last night here in Auckland (New Zealand), Dexter Holland (the band's frontman) after a few songs began to beat these cut-outs of the Backstreet Boys with a baseball bat showing his true feelings towards them..
Yep, it's really going to happen! Mariah Carey is most likely going to record a song with the Backstreet Boys! An excited Brian told us: "We have spoke to mariah personally over the telephone and she asked us if we would like to record a song with her in the (near) future. Cool, isn't it?!" When this special project will take place is uncertain. The BSB will first do to more concerts in the Ahoy' in Rotterdam, on Juli 26 and 27.
Tabloid Troubles... The Backstreet Boys are on the cover of one of those gossip magazines called the National Examiner. The Title says "Backstreet Boys Cheats Death" It's just talks about Brian and his heart sugeray, it's so not worth the price, it's sucha an old story! So warn everyone not to buy it. They are two pic in there, but they are repeated ones that can be seen anywhere else in b&w.

  • Please Come See my AWSOME BSB Articles Page! Politics Backstreet Boys A third party candidate for mayor of San Francisco has agreed to stop using a Backstreet Boys song as his official campaign theme after representatives from the group raised licensing concerns about the song's usage. Mark Hardie, a 28-year-old African-American lawyer who is campaigning for the mayoral position as a self-described "progressive" candidate, began using "One," a song off the Backstreet Boys' new album, "Millennium," at political rallies last month. But after several discussions with the group's licensing director, Hardie and the Backstreet Boys' reps have amicably decided that the song should be kept out of a political forum at the group's request. In talking with MTV News, Hardie said he wasn't upset with the band's decision and actually credits the group with helping infuse increased teen awareness in his campaign and message (even though a large number of Backstreet fans don't meet the minimum voting age required by law). "I'm definitely a supporter of the Backstreet Boys," Hardie said, "and I'm still definitely a fan." Representatives for the Backstreet Boys stated that the group had no official comment on the matter. Hardie says that his primary goal in the campaign was to get more youths involved in the political process, and his platform includes such ideas as creating a Department of Women's Rights for San Francisco and funding new programs to combat youth violence in the city.
Taken from http://www.bsbband.com/News.html I cut out only the important information. We had to cancel a show in Wells, Austria because of Kevin being sick. Sorry about that. The doctor advised him not to sing or the problem would get worse. The rest of the shows will proceed as planned. This is due to a flu bug that has been going around. All the boys have had it. I had it last week so I can testify that its no fun. Please get well Kevin. The fans are getting into throwing their bras onstage. Stop that, its disgusting. The other night Brian used one as a blindfold for my solo..........eeeewwww. We have put a spot in the show for the audience to sing "I Want It That Way". Some crowds are better than others. You better sing loud. Spanish Eyes will be added to the show for the Spain dates. Speaking or Spain, We will be filming the show in Barcelona, Spain. No use of this film has been determined as of yet, but the Boys will own the rights, so you might see it on the store shelves in a year or so. If you are coming to the Barcelona show you might want to keep this in mind. Dress nice. The boys are deciding what the new single will be. What do you think? Larger that life, Don't want you back, Show me the meaning?? Whatever they decide, they will shoot a video for it during the 5 weeks between the European and American/Canadian tour. Probably at the end of August. So you might see it by the end of September. Brian and I have finished recording a demo for his new song. It is not a Backstreet Boys song. Brian has not decided what to do with it yet. But its Great!! Better than anything written so far. Keep your ears open. I'm listenng to it as I write this. Howie's mother and sister went home today, we will miss them. Howie's mom is a party animal!! Nick now has several Gateway desktop computers on the road with him. He sets them up in his hotel room and networks them so he and some of the other boys (and anyone else that might be around) can play miltiplayer computer games. One night in Germany he knocked out the power to the entire hotel floor. God help us all........... ( Go Tommy he is so adorable and funny)

-You can now purchase a copy of the new Backstreet Christmas album. (Reserving I mean). The CD won't come out until Christmas but for about 15 dollars here you can save a copy and not have to worry about it.
-Disney offers preteen dreams in 'Backstreet Boys in Concert' By Jacqueline Cutler (c) TVData Features Syndicate Girls who skipped school and begged parents to take them to Times Square are standing five deep behind barricades while New York police and an army of private security officers patrol. So what if they don't have tickets to the taping of the concert? Or if all they can do is stand in front of the exquisitely appointed New Amsterdam Theatere and scream for several hours? Maybe they can catch a glimpe of their heartthrobs, the Backstreet Boys. The Boys, as those who adore them call the group of five Southerners, are taping a show, "Backstreet Boys in Concert," which airs Saturday on the Disney Channel. Just in case you're over 18 and somehow missed them, the Backstreet Boys are hot. They've sold more than 27 million records in 48 countries, and their latest CD, "Millenium", was released in May. Mention their names -- AJ Mclean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian littrell -- and the uniform response from fans is a shriek. In an exclusive interview after the concert, Littrell, 24, admits the adoration has been difficult to adjust to. "In the beginning, it was very overwhelming," he says, slouching in a folding chair. "It's what you make of it. ...We are just real people. I give a lot of my time to CDs and videos, and then I try to relax, play golf, basketball. Sometimes I just like to sit on my patio and drink coffee." In hi soft Kentucky drawl, he adds that it's disconcerting to have to buy groceries in the middle of the night. Like the others, though, he is gracious with his fans, which seems easy when large, armed men keep them at arm's length. Still, obsessed fans have managed to hide in the storage space of the Boys' tour bus and climb over barbed wire to get into their dressing rooms. Some mothers, including Wendy Blosser of Norwalk, Conn., remember being so smitted. In her case, it was 1960s teen idol Bobby Sherman. And because of that erstwhile love and her devotion to her daughter Samantha, 10, Blosser says, "We tried and tried and tried to get tickets. I kept calling radio stations until 2 a.m." Inside, scrunchies on arms, braces on teeth and wraparound smiles on their faces, the girls shriek as one. A stagehand adjust a microphone and the screaming begins. It's contagious. The moment one girl hits that note, the others join in until the decibel level ratchets the spine of anyone over age 30. The girls likewise scream the lyrics to each song. A casual survey of adults finds no one heard actual words! Starting with "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)," the group works it magic. When Carter holds an audience member's hand while singing "All I Have to Give," the girl clutches her heart with her other hand. As Carter releases the anonymous fan's hand and returns to center stage, her girlfriends collapse into her arms to touch the hand that held Nick's. The set also includes "As Long As You Love Me," "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," and "I Want It That Way." Few are as lucky as the young lady onstage. Most are like Katie Petrikoni, 14, of South Brunswick, N.J., who knew every words to each song and found it impossible to sit at all. Most of the kids will be exhausted the next day, a school day, and will likely skip classes again.
-I was looking at the magazines and there is one called "Teen Machine Presents: The Backstreet Boys & Other Stars who'll make your summer sizzle" and there are 7 HUGE BSB posters and a REALLY in depth interview with Great pictures.
-Backstreet Boys in Concert (Disney Channel, TV-G) - Entertainment Weekly Watching a Backstreet Boys live show is a bit like pulling back the Wizard of Oz's curtain. Without their ace producer Max Martin, the group's usually crisp harmonies often sound muddled, and their space-age pop doesn't pulsate as strongly with a live band. Intercut with frothy interview clips, the concert does deliver all relevant BSB hits, and standout Brian Littrell proves again why he's the Boy most deserving of a solo career. But better to just throw Millenium in your CD player and stare at a poster of the Boys instead. -Dave Karger
-Italy Designers Like Sporty Look By DANIELA PETROFF .c The Associated Press Source: AOL NEWS MILAN, Italy (AP) - The new Latin lover is a romantic rogue, a vacationing vagabond who would just as soon be seduced as do the chasing. The first Italian menswear collection for the new millennium - spring-summer 2000 - which previewed in Milan through Friday, offered relaxed styles based more on sportswear than office attire. Young models with short-cropped hair and clean-shaven faces - and torsos - strolled down the runway in clogs and slippers. Their bodies were gym-trained but never swarthy, their look dreamy rather than aggressive. ``You have to seem vulnerable these days,'' said young Italian actor Alessandro Gassman, son of Vittorio, one of Italy's most famous Latin lovers on and off the screen. Alessandro was a model at the Fendi show, wearing a crisp, white shirt, open on the chest, and a pair of graffiti-printed pants sure to be a hot item next summer. Overall, the summer look was laid back, with lots of cropped trousers from bike shorts to rollerblade pants, knitted sweaters and light, softly tailored jackets. Tank tops and T-shirts abound, and many shirts are unbuttoned to the waist. Geographic inspiration comes from the South Sea islands, with colorful shirts and pareo skirts, and the American West for the many cowboy belts, boots and soft leather frontier styles. Suits were few and far between, except at Armani, Calvin Klein and an ultralightweight town-and-beach version by Romeo Gigli. Technofabrics, such as combinations of paper with silk and linen or metallic wool for extra luster, give the collections an ultramodern thrust. Overall, the palette is gray-blue with some brown and black and lots of candid white. Pink is the latest shock shade. On many outfits buttons are replaced by zippers or Velcro fastening. Shoes rarely have laces. Perfect models for the new look were the five Backstreet Boys, currently making an Italian tour. Wearing white shirts over simple jeans from the latest Versus collection, they sang for Donatella Versace to the delight of the fashion crowd and screaming teen-agers waiting outside the Versus show for a glimpse of their idols.
Source: AOL NEWS -Nick one-way street Source: Megastar BEN TODD THE FUTURE of American pop sensations Backstreet Boys was thrown into doubt last night after heart-throb Nick Carter said he's going solo. "I'm going it alone. My new album will appear in the autumn," Nick told reporters as the band prepared for a gig in front of 28,000 screaming fans in Rome. "The demo tape will be ready in September at the end of our tour. I'd like to write love songs and do soft rock like Bryan Adams." Nineteen-year-old Nick's revelation sent the band's record lable Jive into a spin. They denied the end was in sight for the chart-topping five-piece, but admitted Nick will record some solo material. Spokesman Pete Berry said: "They're not splitting up. “It's just a recurring rumour that happens every six months. "I spoke to the band's official photographer who is out with them in Italy today and he said everyone was happy. "Nick has said at some point he will do a solo record. "But just like Ronan Keating has with Boyzone, he will stay in the band." Backstreet Boys, from Orlando, Florida are one of the world's biggest pop acts, having sold more than 30 million albums. They had their first British No1 two months ago with I Want It That Way. And they have stormed the charts with tracks like As Long As You Love Me and Quit Playing Games (With My Heart). Wherever they travel their hotels are always besieged by hysterical teenage girls in scenes reminiscent of Beatlemania. They are expected to finish all their outstanding shows - including an American tour this winter - before any split occurs.
-Flyboy Kevin Richardson - TEEN PEOPLE MAGAZiNE This Backstreet Boy's Dream was to fly with the Blue Angels. Fasten your seat belt as he shares the ride of his life. He has logged countless frequent-flyer miles on tour with Backstreet Boys, but Kevin Richardson has long fantasized about taking off on his own -- in a fighter plane. So when the U.S. Navy invited one of the Boys to take a flight with the Blue Angels, they didn't draw straws. "The guys know about my flying dreams -- eventually I'm going to get my private license." says Kevin, 28. "So they said, 'You go ahead.' " But when the big day came, the Boys feared for their eldest member. "Everybody asked, 'Is that dangerous?'" he says. "I was like, 'They're trained military pilots. I'm in the safest hands possible!' " Up, Up and Away Still, nothing could have prepared Kevin for his briefing when Petty Officer Ed Primeau told him about the infamous "party bags". (They're like airsickness bags on a commercial airliner, but there are eight of them -- and after you've filled them, the only place to stash them is in your pockets.) First-timers usually need the party bags because their bodies aren't used to the gravitational pull, measured as G-forces (or G's for short) encountered at high speeds in the air. But Kevin didn't flinch at the prospect. "I'm a little nervous," he says. "But I'm excited." There are tons of pictures with captions before, during, and after Kevin's flight. Some captions say that Kevin returned the favor by signing autographs for several of the pilots' daughters. Kevin also said that, "It's the difference between riding in a station wagon and riding in a Lamborghini!" when asked how does flying with the Blue Angels compare to flying on a commercial jet.
-About the Sears Card Do not buy magazine that you don't subscribe to, to get the PULSE card. It is being found in almost ALL teen magazines. Just a warning so you don't spend your money for nothing. For the past month, Disney Channel have been showing 2 BSB commercials for the Disney Special. There's one where they are singing "Everybody," and at the end of mixture of "In Concert..." Disney shows a girl with glasses in red screaming with the green bracelet, just record it, pause it, and look VERY carefully, you'll see an arm with a rolled up light shade of purple sleeve!! That's me. If the Disney Special showed behind the scenes about the guys talking about their life. I can tell you that BSB recorded it on May 12th and May 13th at a bowling alley and a basketball court and someplace near the Hudson River. Anyway, you might see Nick with braids, if you do, that was recorded May 13th, if not May 12th. It was in a bowling alley where they were playing bowling and a basketball court. My sister told me the address that it could of been recorded at because it looks familiar to her but she had to make sure it's that place when she watches the Disney concert. In the new TEEN magazine, there's a ONE page article with a few pics from the Disney Concert rehearsal and them playing bowling. There's this one picture where you'll see Nick wearing a football thing (that you'll see during "Larger Then Life" and I think it's my friend's dressing room. ("The one" who got me in) The room looks familiar to me because in the background it's beige and it has a picture frame up with the door near it, and it looks soo like one of the dressing rooms.

But if you want to check it out, it has a Backstreet Boys centerfold, and there is a picture of them shooting the Sears commercial. The magazine name is the ENQUIRER I saw it at the mall.
-Taken from www.Billboard.com Backstreet Boys Top Mid-Year Certifications Backstreet Boys' Jive album "Millennium" is the best-selling album so far this year, according to mid-year certification figures from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Six weeks after its release, the Boys' second U.S. album is already certified at the five million mark, which puts it halfway to matching the total sales-to-date of the group's eponymous debut set. Backstreet Boys are only one of the youth-oriented pop acts that dominated sales in the first half of the year. Ricky Martin's self-titled C2/Columbia set and Britney Spears' " ... Baby One More Time" (Jive), both released in the past six months, have hit the four-million plateau, while 'N Sync's eponymous RCA set has moved three million more copies this year, pushing its grand total to seven million. 2Pac's double set, "Greatest Hits" (Amaru/Death Row/Interscope), is the midyear's top hardcore rap album, certified at five million, while TLC's LaFace/Arista set "Fanmail" has delivered four million in sales so far this year, making it the top hip-hop collection. Top rock albums at midyear are Metallica's double set, "Garbage Inc." (Elektra/EEG), which hits the four million mark, and the Offspring's Columbia album "Americana," which has moved three million units in the past six months, pushing its certified total to four million. As for June certification highlights, Shania Twain's "Come On Over" (Mercury Nashville) hit the 11 million mark, and Dixie Chicks' "Wide Open Spaces" (Columbia Nashville) hit six million.

-*Teen Faves Cross Over to Film Roles

    Taken from: The Orlando Sentinel

The Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync and Britney Spears will make cameo appearances in Jack of All Trades. Some footage was shot last week in Central Florida.

    First, there was Spice World.

Now, the big screen is beckoning the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, Britney Spears and other pop-music stars in the stable of Orlando's Trans Continental Records.

The Orlando teen favorites will sing and play cameo roles in Jack of All Trades, a feature film that marks Trans Continental's first foray into the movie business. The film is being produced by Trans Continental Pictures, a new division of entrepreneur Louis J. Pearlman's Trans Continental Cos.

Film crews finished three days of location shooting in Central Florida last week - at downtown Orlando's N.Y.P.D. restaurant, Windermere country Club and Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park.

Filming will continue in Los Angeles through mid-July, with additional scenes to be shot later this summer in Toronto, said Scott Appel, the film's publicist. The film-makers are meeting with potential distributors and aiming for a theatrical release.

Despite the presence of musical members, Jack of All Trades doesn't revolve around the music business - a la Spice World or the Beatles' long-ago A Hard Day's Night.

Instead, it's the story of twentysomethingtennis instructor-gigolo (played by new-comer Tony DeCamillis) who gets embroiled in a scheme involving seduction and insider trading.

The cast includes Paul Sorvino (Bulworth), Hunter Tylo (The Bold & the Beautiful), Antonio Sabato Jr. (The Big Hit), Danielle Fishel (Boy Meets World) and comedian Gilbert Gottfried.

As for how much acting will be done by the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears or 'N Sync, fans will have to wait to see.

"Some of the music groups are performing; others are playing characters," Appel said. "We want to keep people in suspense a little bit."

-*Mariah called the Backstreet Boys to ask them if they would like to record a duet with her. Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys was very pleased. "I've always dreamed about working together with her. Besides that, it is very good for her career and for our career." -Taken from Mariah Carey Archives - News Archives

-*Last night on David Letterman, he did a funny skit about the Backstreet Boys. A question from the CBS Mailbag asked who his favourite BSB was...and well...after much thought, consideration, and pondering...IT'S HOWIE DOROUGH.

-*Helping BSB Make it Overseas A fan on Backpack wants to create a huge list of Radio shows, TV shows, and magazine and newspapers where fans can request Backstreet. She will create the list and send it out each week so fans can vote for BSB. Right now she only has 23 links. She needs mostly foreign info. so if any foreign fans have links that are not common please send them her way. Please, if your first language is not English, list how we may vote for them. (i.e write how to request them in that language)
