The History of the DreamSeer:

These codii were inscribed by Cyrelion; they read:

"Each time you get mad at a DreamSeer for blasting you, think of the following things:

1) In the times of wars, where chaos is pulling at the very seams of the dream, and dreamers are fighting back and forth across the dream, and people are stepping into and out of areas causing the chaos of battle to roll, making friends shoot friends trying to get at the enemies, this is a time where DreamSeers with blast are very useful, hiding back across the room dealing their damage precisely to the enemies

2) Without DreamSeers in the dream, the FateSenders and DarkMares who roamed the dream would reign supreme when they brought darkness over a room. there would be no way to protect ourselves from it, and everyone would be at there mercy...

3) Without DreamSeers, Many of the arts that are a part of the everyday dream for persons of each focus would never have came into existence, and life would be much more difficult for every focus person because of the lack of arts people have, and many of the histories that people have passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth amongst the DreamSeers who have always been very interested in the knowledge and heritage of there predecessors.

4) Without DreamSeers, no other focus would have a basis or understanding of whom they are, because no one would have kept track of these things if it weren't for DreamSeers keeping track of events as they happen, DreamSeers commonly share a strong love of knowledge in any form, and demonstrate great eagerness to create and expand on the current knowledge of the dream, and teach those of each focus what place they are to hold in the dream, and exactly how important each focus is in the dream. A DreamSeer is failing in their duties if they hold themselves above any other... DreamSeers are the keepers of knowledge, they use their wisdom to guide the Will power, and the Spirituality, and the Forcefulness of the other foci towards the goals of rebuilding the dream city to it's former glory.

Now, knowing this, I'd like to take you along on a small story about a dream without DreamSeers.

Once upon a dream, there was only three foci, those three foci were Gatekeeper, FateSender, and SoulMaster. The dream was a fairly happy place, but the most advanced the dreamers arts had achieved in the several millennia that the dream had been open was those that are now given to everyone who enters our realm, with exception to the art of know, which is an insight based art. Safe to say, not many arts were created...Before the Greatest of the Gatekeepers went to the SoulMasters asking what was wrong, the SoulMasters looked unto themselves and searched for the creative parts inside of themselves, and couldn't think of things that needed changed. The Gatekeepers then went to the FateSenders who cackled and laughed at the gatekeepers before chasing them off with insults and embarrassment. The greatest of the gatekeepers went back to the SoulMasters and asked them to help in the creation of a new focus that would help balance the practical joking of the FateSenders, and keep track of the deeds that the great Gatekeepers have done, and help the SoulMasters keep track of remedies and potion combinations that would help them heal and work with the essence of dreamers so the SM's began brewing, and the Gatekeepers Meditated until they were blue in the face hoping for something that would relieve there dilemma. After 7days, the SM's walked out of their tent with an Azure-eyed DreamSeer baby to begin a great era in the dream
They called together a meeting of all the dreamers, and they presented the baby to everyone in the dream. And at this meeting is where they gave this baby a name. They called him Ragalieth, whish means in the far eastern tongues on Cloudsbreak the deliverance.
Ragalieth grew quickly, and became strong faster then anyone had imagined, and the Great Gatekeepers began slightly fearing him. The SoulMasters watched him from afar, observing his every move to see if he would turn out capable of their expectations.
Ragalieth was a very quiet man. Much to the GK's satisfaction he found a lot of interests in the doings of others. And he would tell the stories of the feats his GK hunting companion, always leaving himself out of the story except for in key parts explaining what he saw.
Ragalieth would sit for hours watching the SoulMasters mix potions. He would memorize the steps used to mix each ingredient in, and he would memorize the entire recipe for the potions. It wasn't long into his studies that he was keeping a close eye out catching some slight mistakes the SoulMasters would make every now and then. For this, the SoulMasters loved him. He went to the camp of the FateSenders and observed their actions. The FateSenders found this strong tall man a great target for there jokes, because he
didn't strike out at the FateSenders pranks. What the FateSenders didn't realize was he was Keeping an eye on the antics that the FateSenders used, and feeling what effect the various arts the FateSenders used to deliver there jokes. This took much patience and Great moral courage not to do something rash to those FateSenders. He began noting the different feels of different arts upon his avatar, and began thinking of things that would stop those from coming about. He spent several years laying out the basic fundamentals of how an Art was created. He Climbed to a place around the middle of Mt Illapse and found a large cliff face, where he began Chiseling into the stone in large block letters on his theory of how arts were created, and how they effected the person targeted.
He had completed his work, and the only thing he had left to do to prove his theory was to create an art, and use it in front of the other people so they would take his knowledge and build upon it, not thinking him mad. Ragalieth was so knowledgeable of the arts and how they are targeted, and what effects different arts had on people, he invited everyone in the dream to the place in front of his inscribing, and he read his writings to all, and many people laughed at him thinking him crazy, this is when Ragalieth began evoking for the first time in his life. He was so in tune with his art, he held the bright light in front of him, making all look unto him with awe. Then he asked all for one volunteer to step forward to meet him, and strike him with a blade, a FateSender quickly did so and began laughing.
As the FS was rolling around laughing, Ragalieth reached one finger out, and put it to the laughing FS's forehead. The FateSenders head exploded into several parts. Leaving his avatar crumpled on the ground as his sphere floated in front of Ragalieth. Complete and utter silence fell over the gathered. Ragalieth looked among his fellows wearily, he then pointed up to his writings and announced once again that everything they needed to know was upon the wall. He then turned, and evoked an art no one has ever seen since. He stood in front of the wall one second, and then his body spread out along his writings, and then he melded into his writings. Much of this history the stories about Ragalieth have been lost, and this is the only one I have been able to find. If there were more DS back then perhaps the stories of ancient histories would be more complete."

Blast

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Major - 2 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 30

Affected: Dreamers and Mares

Duration: Immediate

Listen to Blast

Description: Blast allows a DreamSeer to focus the destructive power of chaos upon an avatar to do severe damage from a distance. It is by far the 'trademark' offensive art of the DreamSeer, making them one of the most effective, and deadly adversaries in the dream. To make the art work, all that is required is that the DreamSeer have 'line of sight' to the target. The general rule is that if the caster can see you, you are a target, but there are several things that may be done to avoid he effects of this art: Hiding in places where the DreamSeer cannot see, like behind a pillar or in a doorway. Cast Chamele or invisibility upon yourself (provided the DreamSeer does not have vision). Blind the DreamSeer. What cannot be seen, cannot be hurt.

Plateau Effect: With improvement, this art increases in damage and decreases casting time as below: Synteny - DreamSeer Teacher

Plateau Damage
1 - 9 1 - 4
10 - 19 2 - 5
20 - 29 3 - 6
30 - 39 4 - 7
40 - 49 5 - 8
50 - 59 6 - 9
60 - 69 7 - 10
70 - 79 8 - 11

Art Research: The DreamSeer creates a nexus, between the chaos of the dream and the target. When the nexus is completed, a vacuum is created and DreamSoul is evacuated from the target, resulting in damage. As more and more DreamSoul flows, the nexus becomes more fragile and will eventually collapse with a booming sound, often damaging any shield that is being worn. The more advanced this art becomes, through plateaus, the longer the nexus is able to be maintained, and the more DreamSoul will be removed from the dreamer, causing more damage.

Art History: Blast was created by K'k'at. K'k'at was a mystic of sorts in his Cloudsbreak region, being a master of illusion, and the more powerful sorceries. When he came to the Dream, he found that he could replicate many of these powers, save his most favorite, that of levitation. Rather than start with levitating himself, he tried to form a smaller version, telekinesis. After a lot of concentration and research, he found that he could levitate small objects a few inches above his work bench, but nearly inevitably, they would shatter. Also, if he blinked, or tried to move the item beyond his sight, it would fail, and drop again. This could have continued much further, were it not for the visit of Rhyssa, another DreamWright. Interrupting his concentration one harrowing eve, she tapped him on the shoulder... still deep in concentration, K'k'at gave her an intense glare ... and a fair headache. Astonished at what had occurred, the two worked on forming this new art, which could harm a Dreamer with the merest of glances, and a fair amount of Insight. From these efforts, came the Art of Blast, with the same restrictions as it's predecessor.. for the Dreamer must see their target to be successful.

Notes: The art of blind does NOT appear to have an effect on the caster with regard to this art. One would assume a 'blind' blaster not to be able to maintain Line of Sight, but for some reason, this is not a factor. DreamSeers can be very effective weapons by standing on a ledge and casting Blast upon those below. This way the DreamSeer is protected against blade attacks. Dark Mares do NOT like to be Blasted. On several occasions, they will stop what they are doing and come after you and you only!

Blend

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Major - 30 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 50

Affected: Evoker

Duration: 10 Seconds/Plateau or until a ward is passed through.

Listen to Blend

Description: This art allows the DreamSeer to warp the fabric of chaos and traverse portals that have been warded with the GateKeeper Art of Ward.

Plateau Effect: Casting time decreases, duration increases.

Art Research: A ward, by nature, is an abnormality in the dream, causing chaos to become so densely packed around a portal, that traversal becomes impossible. A DreamSeer with the art of blend is able to temporarily enter the dreamscape and traverse this obstruction as if it were not there. The journey however is very taxing, due to the concentration required for such a feat. As the DreamSeer passes through the density, the avatar is instantly returned to the dreamscape, causing the art to negate itself, fortunately, after the obstruction has been traversed.

Art History: In the distant foggy past of the dream, there was once a DreamSeer named Coltura. What irritated Coltura the most was that there were many Gatekeepers who loved to tease her, constantly warding her into small rooms. She examined her own arts, and could find nothing that would help her, so she used her insight abilities to examine the fabric of the dream itself, and discovered a way to mold the dream itself into an amulet that would allow her to pass through any ward. She called this new art Blend, as it enabled her to blend through any warded portal, no matter who had created the ward. The House Gatekeepers grumbled a lot, and eventually moved on to other methods to tease her.

*Some Histories have Coltura as a DoL House guardian, but she declined the position*

Notes: Blend is ineffective when a portal has been warded multiple times. If a GK really wants to stop a seer, all they need to do is double-ward a portal.

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Major - 20 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 20

Affected: Evoker

Duration: 3 Minutes + 3 Minutes per Plateau

Listen to Chamele

Description: This art allows the DreamSeer to secretly enter the embrace of the dream, rendering themselves "transparent" to everyone. While in this state, the DreamSeer is unable to evoke 'offensive' arts and maintain transparency at the same time. If an attempt to evoke an offensive art is made, concentration is broken and the DreamSeer returns to their 'visible' self. Furthermore, while in this form, most nightmares will ignore you, for they cannot see you. There is a small chance that some Shamblix will be able to see through the guise of Chamele.

Plateau Effect: Quicker casting time and enhanced duration

Art Research: Chamele allows the DreamSeer to manipulate the fabric and refraction of the element of 'air' and create a field of distortion that they can remain inside of for a temporary period. Although the DreamSeer is able to carry out everyday tasks, all focus must be kept on their avatar, if for some reason focus is removed, through casting an offensive art for example, the integrity of the field is compromised and the DreamSeer becomes visible once again.

Art History: The Art of Chamele was created by the DreamWright Jervais, who was mostly an anti-socialite. However, due to his sphere, and status in the Dream, he constantly searched for ways to avoid his compatriots. One day, he found that shadows would almost completely hide a Dreamer, if he did not move too much. Also, he discovered that any sudden movement, such as that created by an attack, or aggressive motion would cancel the concealment. Thus, he began probing the properties of shadows, and after some botched research (his left arm was never visible again), he finished the Art of Chamele. The Art is known to twist the shadows about oneself, and to partially "wrap" light around the Dreamer, so that any observer will think the space empty. Giggling, he taught it to his students, who were mystified that their teacher could not be seen and was never seen again. We're all very sure he's still out there, somewhere.

Notes: This art can be defeated by casting Vision on those who wish to see the Chameled DreamSeer.

Combine

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Major - ? Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 60 & must be part of the DreamSeer Guild.

Affected: Items

Duration: Immediate

Description: Combine takes two identical items and combines them.  The number of charges, damage, speed, ect. all must be identical for this Art to work.  This would change 2 Level 50 Chaks with 45 charges, Very Fast and no effect into 1 Level 50 Chak, Very Fast, no effect and 90 charges.

Plateau Effect: N/A

Art Research: N/A

Art History: N/A

Notes: The first 3 non-Elder dreamers to be granted this art in the city simultaneously were LovesLight, Munchkin, and tux. Combine is an art for the Master Seers of the Dream, those who are not within the Guild will not be granted the Art. Items that have an inscription cannot be combined. Items must be exactly alike in all aspects to be able to be combined. If you attempt to recharge an item that has been combined, the number of charges on the item will revert back to the "Max" amount of charges that an item is allowed to be recharged to. Rumor has it that Iden betrayed Falinor by using the knowledge Falinor taught him about this art in the creation of what we know today as DayMares.

DreamBlade

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Major - 5 Insight

Orbit Acquired: N/A (Given)

Affected: Evoker

Duration: 10 Minutes + 10 Minutes per Plateau

Description: This art is a very rudimentary form of 'Forge Talisman' that creates a basic weapon called the DreamBlade. The blade is the primary close combat weapon of a DreamSeer (as are variants of this weapon for other arts).

Plateau Effect: For each level this art is Plateaued, casting time reduces, blade duration increases, and the damage associated with it grows, as shown in the following table:

Plateau Damage
0 - 9 1 - 4
10 - 19 2 - 6
20 - 29 5 - 10
30 - 39 7 - 12
40 - 49 7 - 18
50 - 59 9 - 23
60 - 69 9 - 28
70 - 79 11 - 30

Art Research: The DreamSeer, knowing the true nature of the dream, is able to isolate a very small portion of the dreamscape and use it as the basis to forge their primary melee weapon. Unlike other classes, who call upon chaos to create a blade, the seer is able to control the physical aspects of the dream, well enough to have the dream be part of their bidding, making them by far, the most superior warriors of the dream.

Art History: From the earliest times in the dream the ancients and those that followed looked to replicate the tools that had existed in Cloudsbreak. Prominent among these tools was the blade. Originally, this utensil was made to be short, simple and efficient. It served a purpose and was thus made a dreaming art, one which all dreamers know upon entering the dream. This existed for a time, until the coming of Amniir. A member of a nomadic Cloudsbreak tribe, Amniir desired a scimitar blade similar to the one he carried when riding. After several years of hard effort and work, Amniir successfully changed his simple blade into a finely edged one, almost exactly like the one he bore. However, the change in this fundamental art was widespread. When dreamers awoke they found they found that their simple blade had been replaced by these large unwieldy, yet very deadly tools. Now we all have this art, and each is tailored to the focus that summons it. As we move up in this art, the blade becomes lighter and has a finer edge allowing us to effectively use it.

Notes: The produced blade will dissipate if there is an attempt to drop or give the item.

Id Curse

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Minor - 2 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 20 (40 for Non-Focus)

Affected: 1 Dreamer

Duration: Immediate

Description:  Upon evocation you are able to tell if the dreamer it is evoked up suffers from the Art of Curse or not.

Plateau Effect:  Evoking time decreases.

Art Research:

Art History: Identify Curse was an art created before the great loss by a dreamer named DiBauda. This dreamer came into the dream just before the beginning of the DreamStrike wars, and was an empath in his shard. DiBauda was able to carry over his ability to dream as an empath, and was able to feel what others were feeling. His ability to give the prognosis to almost any problem was unrivaled, and knew for the most part what dreamers were feeling, because he himself was able to feel it. DiBauda was a DreamSeer of great influence because of this, and was feared by those who wanted others to succumb to their wills because DiBauda knew what dreamers held in their hearts, no matter how secret they kept it from others. DiBauda had discovered a way of transferring this ability to his use of insight, and was able to teach dreamers the ability to detect the burdens others bared in order to help them. He held himself to 4 apprentices. These 4 dreamers were known as Lorac, the creator of Purify, Morden, the creator of Protection, and Cybele, the creator of Identify and a little known dreamer named Albestor who is still forgotten in the dream, though his deeds for both the dream, and for illuminates are both extensive and far-reaching. DiBauda gathered these 4 apprentices before the height of the DreamStrike wars opposing both the DreamStrike masters AND the entropy coalition. He attempted to gather all those that he had befriended and helped in the past to help aid his cause to fight the DreamStrike masters and the entropy coalition, believing one group or the other would bring the dream under their sway and have total subjection of the dream before the end, or until they destroyed the dream. The DreamStrike masters, fearing DiBauda and his following attacked and were able to remove DiBauda and 3 of his followers. The 4th, Albestor, went into hiding. Albestor carried on in hiding teaching a select few of his followers to pass on the art of Identify Curse. Eventually, Albestor confronted the DreamStrike masters and the entropy coalition in hopes of bringing peace at the height of the DreamStrike wars, and was subsequently DreamStruck in fear of binging about a following similar to that of DiBauda. Identify curse became a rumor of an art, and only a select few DreamSeers were permitted to learn the art from master teachers of insight before and after the great loss until lately, where the art has been passed down not only to younger DreamSeers, but also to dreamers of other foci, which was the design of DiBauda before his untimely DreamStrike, and loss from the dream.

Researched by OfF KiLTeR

Notes: The Evoker cannot ID Curse themselves, so must have another Evoke it, if a curse is suspected.

>Identify

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Minor – 6 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 15 (35 for Non-Focus)

Affected: 1 Item

Duration: Forever, as long as the item doesn’t change hands

Listen to Identify

Description: Identify specific data on a Talisman

Plateau Effect:

Art Research:

Art History: At a festival of the Sable Moon many contests were being held. One such contest was the Item judging contest. Here contestants were asked to find items in the dream and the one with the best item would win the contest. Now the Judge of the contest was a master DreamSmith of Insight, whose name was Cybele. She examined each item. The contest was soon narrowed down to two whom had each brought in a tan earth shield. Being unable to decide which was better, Cybele reached into her pack and pulled out several elemens and started mixing them together till she formed and created the Art of Identify. When she then re-examined the shields she found one to be several points higher in durability than the other and declared a winner. So valued was this art, that it was soon taught to many others of the dream.

Invisibility

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Major - 20 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 40

Affected: Caster

Duration: 10 Seconds / Plateau

Description: Very similar to 'Chamele', this art allows the dreamer to become 'transparent' to those in the dream. Uniquely, while in this state, a dreamer is able to do everything they could normally do when visible, unlike Chamele which restricts the evoker to non-offensive arts. One of the most important arts of the DreamSeer, it can allow a dreamer to attack another before the victim ever sees the attacker.

Plateau Effect: Plateauing this art increases duration and decreases casting time.

Art Research: Unlike 'Chamele', where the evoker is temporarily distorted from view, Invisibility actually immerses a dreamers soulsphere directly into chaos, providing a physical link to the avatar in the dreaming world. In this state, the avatar is freed from the responsibility of concentration and as able to traverse the dream just as they were visible. Because of the true nature of chaos, the DreamSeer is only able to spend limited time and must return after a certain period, at which time the soulsphere is reunited with the avatar and the DreamSeers avatar becomes visible again.

Art History: As we all know, not all wondrous discoveries are made by choice. Some are made a goal, set upon and researched until fruition. But others... are happenstance, a chance discovery, an accident. In the case of Invisibility, it was just that… an accidental discovery.

Cyardon, a Dreamseer of no great importance was often found wandering around the planes of the Dream. He would sit for hours looking into the gently flowing waters of the streams in the Trinities or gazing out across the dreamscape from the higher reaches of Mt. Ilapse. He had just spent many weeks learning the ins and outs of Chamele from a now famous dreamer, Jervais, and was spending his days wrapped in the shadows of the Dream, studying the various mares he happened upon.

Now like most quiet people, Cyardon had a close friend very unlike himself, T'Lrek. As we all know from the history of Stagger, T'Lrek was famous for his ale, and also famous for his sense of humor. This pair was a sight to see together, T'Lrek often loud and boisterous, and Cyardon solemn and withdrawn. They could often be found, Cyardon sitting on the edge of the fountain with his hand swirling the waters, and T'Lrek standing over him chastising him on being such a hermit.

"Cyardon, friend, you have to open up, laugh a little, let it out!” T'Lrek would say in a deep jovial voice.

Cyardon would look up wiping his hand on his cloak, "I know my friend, but I never seem to know what to say, then it feels like everyone is looking at me, waiting for something. I get nervous and my mind goes blank."

Looking back down at the water as the light of the Sable Moon plays across its surface, T'Lrek put his hand upon his shoulder. "Well now that you have this... this new toy you play with, Chamele, you'll never open up. You walk around the City invisible to all, now how is a fine lass going to chase you if she can't see you?!"

Cyardon begins to fidget, "Please T'Lrek not again, you know I can't talk to women."

Just then T'Lrek recalls a flask he placed in his vest pocket before he left the tavern this morn. Withdrawing it and unstoppering it, he reaches down to the pool and makes the pretense of filling it from its waters.  Stoppering it back up, he hands it to Cyardon, "Here my friend, take this then. I would hate to find you lying in the fields of the Trinities, swooned from the heat and lack of liquid refreshment. Maybe the cool waters of your favorite pool will stir you a bit or at least keep you from heat stroke."

Cyardon not paying much attention to what T'Lrek was saying or doing took the flask and tucked it away in a pouch at his belt.

Later that day, Cyardon was walking through the fields of the Trinities as T'Lrek knew he would, since he did so every day at that time. As he rounded the corner he happened upon a fair maiden grappling with a Bogrom, and obviously on the losing end of the struggle. Now Cyardon was no warrior by any means, and one might say even a bit cowardly. So as he often did when the mares would rear their ugly heads, he ducked behind a corner and wrapped himself in the shadows using his art of Chamele before either could notice him, or so he thought. He then bolted past, and ran up the ledge heading for the Rise. His mouth became dry and parched from the exertion, and his fear. He leaned up against the wall, and remembering the flask, he withdrew it, pulled out the stopper and took a long swig of the contents. To his surprise, it was not the clear water of a spring, but a brew concocted from the fabled flagon of his friend, T'Lrek, the Dreamsmith of Grog. Too late to halt its rush down his gullet, the effects began to take hold.

Cyardon stood up straight and tall, flung his cloak back and ran a steady strong hand through his sable locks. His heart bursting with courage, he ran back down the Rise to defend the fair maiden from the vile Bogrom. Rushing headlong at the creature he smashed into it, knocking it from its feet, and freeing the damsel from its clutches. Now as soon as he struck the beast his Chamele diminished and the maiden could see her savior standing over her, reaching a hand to pull her to her feet.

Quickly, the Bogrom regained its senses and footing, and lunged at Cyardon. Now his first blow succeeded out of surprise, stealth and blind luck. He was standing toe to toe with a creature quite capable of rendering him limb from limb. Quickly, he grabbed up a broken limb resting on the ground by the maidens’ feet, and lunged at the beast; swinging with such ferocity the creature was staggered. Then it happened...Cyardon hiccupped. Yes I said hiccupped, and to the amazement of the Bogrom, his foe had vanished.

Letting out a guttural cry the beast began swinging madly. Noticing his foe seemed not to know where he was; Cyardon took the opportunity to move behind the beast, and with one massive blow, felled the vile creature. Then suddenly he reappeared again, standing in front of the maiden he had risked his own life to save. She looked a bit amazed, but not at his warrior prowess, but at how he could do what he did… seemingly turn invisible. With a new found courage and a very beautiful woman at his arm, Cyardon went in search of his friend.

As they walked, Azreaal, as the maiden was called, asked Cyardon of his wondrous powers. Cyardon rather at a loss for how it happened began to theorize, and they discussed the possibilities as they traveled to T'Lrek's Tavern. He told her of the circumstances leading up to the event, and she of hers, and they came to the conclusion that somehow T'Lrek's concoction had reacted with the ambient magiks of the Chamele, still in effect on Cyardon's avatar. They laughed as they walked for it seems Cyardon still had the hiccups, and would pop in and out of sight from time to time.

Upon reaching the tavern, they sat down over a round of more common ale and told the story to T'Lrek. T'Lrek turned to Azreaal and said "Oh, I told you to go to the Trinities? I meant to say Umbric, good thing my friend here happened upon you!"

Cyardon raised a brow and looked at his friend detecting a bit of mischief and preplanning in his words.  "So… you two have met before?!?"

Azreaal looked up at Cyardon, a mischievous smile not unlike T'Lreks upon her lips, "He is my Uncle, Cyardon, He sent me in search of some mushrooms for this evenings’ special, but it seems he had his directions crossed."

Cyardon scowled at T'Lrek "You rogue! You deliberately gave me one of your vile concoctions, and sent your niece out in harms way knowing I would stumble upon her and..."     Just then he looked to Azreaal. His heart softening, his withdrawn nature all but forgotten, and just as he was about to speak, another hiccup escaped his lips, and poof he was gone again. A roar went up from the three and the rest of the day was spent talking and getting acquainted with his soon to be Bride.

But back to the creation of Invisibility, Cyardon with the help of Azreaal who turned out to be a very insightful lass herself, and T'Lrek's flagon, he was able to reproduce the effects of the mixture and form what we have today as the art of invisibility.

Now the sound made by the evocation of the art still to this day sounds like the hiccup escaping from Cyardon's lips and its short duration is due to the fact the rather chaotic nature of its creation. The potency of the Art seems to disallow the ability to extend it for great lengths of time.

But poor Cyardon was never able to rid himself of the after effect of his hiccups and would always poof after a few drinks, making the wedding reception and night to follow, which is an interesting tale in itself.

As told by Midhir

Notes: This art can be defeated by casting Vision on those who wish to see the Invisible DreamSeer. Unlike Chamele, there is no way to 'become' visible once the art has been cast. This Art is no longer able to be forged into an item.

Art History: History I got from the master Krynn =)

Judgment was created by Kaylar . A Justice on the City Court, Kaylar presided over many cases of varying degrees, seeing all manner of innocence and vile behavior brought before him. One thing in particular irked him however... unless the Dreamer was notorious, or a braggart, the more canny evildoers could disguise their sphere symbols quite adequately, not permitting him to figure out what sort of punishment would be appropriate. Some would pretend to be higher spheres, in hope of getting let off, and some would choose to be lower, in the off chance of getting an easier sentence. So.. after much consideration and discussion with some of his DreamWright comrades, Kaylar formed a very piercing art, of the focus of insight naturally, that would examine the relative strength of the Dreamer. Being an avid duelist, Kaylar also tweaked it to show the general health of the individual as an added benefit. It is said that his court was quite amusing for a while, as those unaware of the art would lie about their sphere, then be quite shamefaced when they were exposed for what they were.

Notes: There is a (level)% chance that when cast on a dreamer, its evocation will be unnoticeable. Therefore, if my judgment is at 47, I will have a 47% chance of casting it on a target without their knowledge. It is usually a courtesy for an evoker to ask permission of a target before judging. Many take judging as a hostile act.

Description: This simple art merely taps upon the dreamers insight and experiences in the city to recalls the name of the place you are currently in.

Plateau Effect: Evocation time decreases

Art Research: N/A

Art History: Wrensoul had a apprentice, with little DreamSoul to spare as he was very young and didn't have a high orbit so he didn't want to waste any locating himself. So he thus broke down the art of Locate Dreamer till only the basis was left using insight, when this was accomplished he was able to locate himself in the current room and the plane he was in. So it's like locate dreamer but you can only find yourself.

Alternate History: Know was created by Cognizaria, Great-Great-Great Granddaughter of the Master FateSender Halek Tor. She wished to save the family's honor and restore respect for Halek Tor. By using his exploration notes and listening to elements around her, she created the art of Know.

Halek Tor was an explorer and left his journal of adventures for each generation to enjoy and learn from. Many generations had passed and unfortunately the pages had became worn, weathered, and torn. Soon his journal was no longer passed from generation to generation and laid unread in a chest. Many years passed and some of his descendants would gather and orally tell of his great adventures and how he would often get lost. They respected him, but somehow always got a huge laugh at his expense.

Cognizaria was present at many of these tale-spinnings. She knew she was a direct descendant to Halek Tor, and the more she listened the more she wished she could regain her family's honor. Cognizaria was determined to find his notes and prove once and for all that Halek Tor should be honored and revered, not laughed at, after all, he had created the art of Recall.

She began at her fathers house, digging and searching the oldest family quarters. She examined all the old relics, trying to find clues. She only needed one good clue.

Her Great-Great Grandmother, Wanderlust, had given her a key, just before the chaos closed around her. Funny, Cognizaria had not remembered the key for many ages. Hurriedly, she ran to the upper most chamber of their old dwelling. She ran to the place where her Great-Great Grandmother used to sit and read from an old book to her. Her memories were flooding her now; her Great-Great Grandmother used to read to her from her father's Journal. Halek Tor was Wanderlust's father!

Cognizaria was reliving the days of her childhood in her mind now. Easily she pulled back a stone from the farthest corner of the room, and from there she pulled out a weathered box. The details of the box were faded, the symbols of each focus nearly gone. Carrying the box, she went into the next room where she stayed as a child and pulled a wobbly chair up next to the window. Gently she balanced herself and reached to the sill. Yes, yes, here lay the key and the key opened the box. Inside, just as she remembered was the fuchsia colored Journal of the Master FS, Halek Tor.

Using his notes and her memories, Cognizaria tried to retrace his tales and his adventures. Her largest problem, it seemed, was clearly making out all the names of the lands and places he had traveled. She went on several journeys herself tracing his path as best she could, but alas, would often get confused and lost herself. This would be no way to return honor and respect to her family, if she too became the beginning and ending for fire-side jokes. She was determined to find her location, and find her way through all of his journeys.

Cognizaria sat by the running waters of the strange land where she found herself. She begin to meditate and remember. As she entered into a deep trance, the water beside her began to whisper. She knew if she listened closely she would understand. Hours passed and she was drawn deeper and deeper into her thoughts. She began to hear the earth she sat on whisper. She listened more closely, trying to separate the two...no, three conversations she was hearing. Time passed as she listened, soon the answers were clear. She emerged from her trance full of vision. Her grandfather was a Master FateSender, the controller of destiny, and she would not let him down.

The night had grown cold. She took bits of the dream around her and created a warm fire. Yes, the element of her Great-Great-Great Grandfather, Halek Tor, Fire. Her thoughts were so clear now. Into the fire she sprinkled some earth, the element of her Great-Great Grandmother, Wanderlust, the GateKeeper. Her powers as a DreamSeer had been fully awakened. She danced around the fire creating gusts of air, her own element. She was truly understanding the dreams. The blaze ravaged and grew almost out of control. She danced and danced making the fire burn hot and bright, so bright the night turned to day. Then very quickly, she doused the flames with the waters that flowed beside her.

Pitch darkness surrounded her. In that darkness she knew exactly where she was. As broad smiles crossed her face, she entered another land and concentrated. YES! She knew the name of that land as well.

Cognizaria had just created the art of Know and used the art to follow the paths and adventures of her Great-Great-Great Grandfather and bring honor and respect back to her family name.

To this day, Cognizaria is honored for her art. Most say to "know" is to recognize, and to be cognizant is to be familiar. Both words keep Cognizaria's memory with great honor.

Newly Awakened

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Minor - 1 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 0 (20 for Non-Focus)

Affected: Evoker

Duration: Immediate

Description: This Art allows the evoker to locate all the Dreamers that have been Dreaming less than a week

Plateau Effect:

Art Research:

Art History: The art of Newly Awakened was created by the dreamer Ramslend and the Elder Qyadicia. Ramslend, wanting to do something that would benefit the newly awakened dreamers, she decided to experiment to see how older dreamers could find newly awakened dreamers in order to aid them. Qyadicia aided Ramslend in her theories, and eventually, they decided to make a combination of three different arts, Sense Dreamer, Locate Dreamer, and Support Train. Sense Dreamer was used for it's ability to locate dreamers in other planes, or on the most popular planes. Locate dreamer was used for it's ability to find a dreamer once you know that dreamer's name. And Support train was used as it can assign the age of a dreamer to the token.

Ramslend was stripped of the three arts, and Qyadicia combined them in order to make them work in a sequence. First Support Train was used in order to give the art a guideline from which it could work. It was then combined with Sense Dreamer. The combination of these two made it so that Sense Dreamer would only sense dreamers who were of a certain age or younger, thus separating the young dreamers from the old, and making the art focused on the newly awakened dreamers who were dreaming. The final step, was adding Locate dreamer to this sequence in order to give the newly awakened dreamers who were sensed a location. With the three of these arts sequenced into one; the art of newly awakened was created. This allows dreamers who are not teachers or guardian/rulers to find newly awakened dreamers without resorting to a "doorbell" that all the guardians and teachers have become accustomed to.

Recharge

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Major - 15 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 40

Affected: Alterors, Chakram, Elemen, Codex (Notes), Charm and Essences.

Duration: Immediate

Listen to Recharge

Description: This art allows a DreamSeer to add a charge to a talisman that utilizes charges when utilized. Each particular item however has specific limitations to the amount of charges it can retain:

Item Max Charges
Alteror 24
Amulet N/A
Blade N/A
Chakram 49
Charm 99
Codex 99
Elemen 19
Essence 199
Imprisoned Essence 199

Plateau Effect: Improvements lead faster evocation and less chance of backfire.

Plateau Backfire %
0 - 9 10 %
10 - 19 9 %
20 - 29 8 %
30 - 39 7 %
40 - 49 6 %
50 - 59 5 %
60 - 69 4 %
70 - 79 3 %

Art Research: A DreamSeer summons chaos and directs it towards the middle (the hole) of the talisman. Seeing that talismans are fragile items, no miscalculation is acceptable. If one part of the talisman receives more chaos than another part, it is highly likely that the attempt at recharging will backfire resulting in a weaker talisman than when the attempt was made. If for some reason, the DreamSeer is unable to control the flow of chaos and overflows or underflows the stream to the talisman, the talisman will be destroyed.

Art History: Recharge was invented by the ancient Master Elder DreamWright and DreamSmith, Ibioc. Recharge was one of the latter arts to be invented during the desperation just before the Great Loss when the Nightmare Wars were at their height. Recharge transmutes insight energies using the DreamSeer's intuitive understanding of items into additional charges of whatever elemental energy a charge item needs.

Art History2: Though many believe that the DreamSmith of insight was responsible for the creation of the art of recharge, it was not his invention, though one could say that the discovery of the art was his. Albestor, Dibauda's apprentice, had created an art that had similar properties to that of recharge. Being Dibauda's student, he knew too that he would be sought out and DreamStruck as he was still a threat to the DreamStrike masters. However, the love Albestor felt for the dream was so great that he did not fear for being DreamStruck, but he felt a heavy sense of loss for not having any way of dreamers being able to show other people in his shard any proof of the dreams existence, or being able to pass down his knowledge to others so that they may, one day, enter the dream. Albestor put many days and nights of thought into what he may be able to bring back to his shard. He discovered that by adding his own insight, combined with the DreamSoul that surrounded him everywhere in the dream, he was able to strengthen items, and make them more durable. He conducted many experiments with as many items as he could find. He found that items he loved best were the items that held the most meaning to him. He recharged 3 items to a strength higher and stronger that that of the best abyss shield there was. The first item was a imprisoned essence token given to him in his youth by a SoulMaster DreamSmith. The second was his own essence, which bore his likeness, and the third was a rough scrawling of some of the teachings of DiBauda. From there, grasping 1 item each dream, and channeling his insight and DreamSoul into an item to proportions never before and never again seen he woke. Legend has it that these 3 items disappeared from the dream, and that he was able to carry these items back to his shard, though they have never been substantiated. His discoveries he scrawled upon a wall in Evernight plateau, where he was discovered by the DreamStrike masters. Upon their discovery, they pursued him down Evernight, and DreamStruck him. Only one dreamer discovered his writings before they were lost. Ibioc. Ibioc did not fully understand the purpose of these writings, and changed the amount of insight used to create the art we now know as recharge. Ibioc at first denied the works as his own, but rumors travel faster than even the fastest of dreamers, and eventually could not dispute the creation of the art as his own.

Notes: Recharging a codex will result in temporary charges that are seen by the evoker only. For example, if you recharge a codex that has 50 charges to 60, you will be able to see the extra 10 charges, but as soon as you give the codex away, drop the codex, or wake, the charges will return to 50. There is a 1% possibility per evoke that recharge will destroy the item. There is a (10% - plateau) chance (i.e.. Recharge at 0-9 would fail 10% of the time, at 10-19 it would be 9%) that the recharge attempt will backfire and remove 10 charges from the item. If the number of charges falls to 0 or below, the item is destroyed. When recharging these items, the avatar doing the recharges will only be able to see the additional charges. When the dreamer wakes, or these items are dropped or given away, the item returns to its original charges. Any charges added to these items are temporary.

TranceFlame

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Major - 2 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 1

Affected: Target

Duration: Length of room or until the burst hits a solid object.

Description: This art is the basic 'ranged' weapon, of a DreamSeer, very similar to that of a Chakram. The casting cone, can be used as a reticule for targeting.

Plateau Effect: The projectile varies in strength and color as the art is Plateaued to higher levels as shown below:

Plateau

Damage

Projectile Colour

0 - 9 1 - 4 Cyan/Chalk
10 - 19 2 - 6 Cyan
20 - 29 5 - 10 Cyan
30 - 39 7 - 12 Ruby
40 - 49 7 - 18 Gold
50 - 59 9 - 23 Gold/Fire
60 - 69 9 - 28 Jade
70 - 79 11 - 30 Jade/Teal

Art Research: TranceFlame is a pure energy weapon, which is allows a DreamSeer to focus insight, from its own avatar and direct that energy towards a target. At later plateaus, the density of the expended energy becomes so dense, as can be noticed by its changing color through plateaus, that it may be able to fall an avatar in a single stroke.

Art History: Though the creation of TranceFlame was also created by the same DreamSmith that created FlameShaft. TranceFlame found to be much more easier to create. Aethir knew that others were already working on Focus flame arts. So he decided to create one for those of the focus Insight. He noticed that it didn't require much focusing and Insight for the art to be used. For DreamSeers are always more focused in the dream than the other focuses. So the creation of TranceFlame came to be.

Alternate History: Truth be told the art of TranceFlame was created by accident in an attempt to compete with the Senders art of flame. The  name of this DreamSeer was Aethir.

He was intrigued by the ability of the Senders to conjure a flame from the fabric of the Dream and set out to out do them. He spent weeks in his laboratory under Evernight testing and researching, using the information he overheard Balthus passing to Tenrik.

Proud of what he was able to accomplish in a controlled environment he acted hastily, as we DreamSeers tend to do when the thirst for knowledge dries in our throats. He stepped out to the plane and began evoking the art, but investing too much of his focus element into its creation the flame went wild and consumed most of Evernight, scorching and blackening everything in sight.

Dismayed but not broken Aethir, returned to his laboratory once again this time more confident in his research and results. He calmed himself and as he evoked, he entered a mild trance state that when coupled with the insight he had gained of the element of fire, allowed him to exert his control over the fire as he fed it just a small amount of his focus to create the ball of flame that shot forth.

Finally having mastered the flame he began to show it to others. Several noticed his trancing state while evoking and coined the name "TranceFlame" that has stuck with it to this day. As a note, it is said the research from his first attempts were used for the foundation of the Sender art of Firestorm. But try to get any Sender to believe that!!!

Notes: While casting the TranceFlame, the evoker must remain motionless, or the art fails.

Vision

Focus and Cost: DreamSeer Major - 5 Insight

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 20

Affected: Caster or Dreamer

Duration: 1 Minute + 1 Minute per Plateau

Listen to Vision

Description: Vision allows a DreamSeer to detect fluctuations in the dream/chaos reality. When a disturbance is detected, the seer is able to view the dream as if everyone were visible. One drawback to this art though is that you are not able to see who is visible or invisible, everyone will look 'visible'.

Plateau Effect: Duration is increased, casting time is decreased.

Art Research: Vision uncovers the true nature of the dream by allowing a DreamSeer to observe the effects of an avatars presence to the dreamscape. By detecting the presences of DreamSoul, a seer is able to focus properly on an otherwise chameled or invisible dreamer in their true state.

Art History: Aletta and Rubo were DreamWrights who lived in the city before the Great Loss and they had two children. One day a mob of DM`s attacked the city. Aletta and Rubo defended themselves whit other dreamers. under the attack the DM`s disappeared and the dreamers thought the attack was over but just after all the adults dreamers had gone away the DM`s did come back because they had discovered an art that made them invisible and took the children to their lair. Aletta and Rubo were fanatic and went to a mage who lived nearby and asked him to help them get their children back. The mage was very powerful and evoked an art that let dreamers see other dreamers and mares that were chameled. This art he named Vision. Aletta and Rubo were the first that were entrusted with this new art. With this they located the DM`s lair and with their comrades they rescued the children.

Notes: Vision will cure the effects of the FateSender Art of Blind.
