A presentation on the Melonhead exercise, reported on in the last edition of the newsletter has come I second in the annual Scottish Chamber of Safety’s Safety Competition, and wins the prestigious ????????????? The entry was one of 2 submitted to SCOS, by the Safety, Health and Environmental Forum (Scotland). The other SHEF(S) entry was submitted by Michael Tolland on behalf of East Dunbartonshire Council’s Education for Work Unit. Michael’s entry won first Prize. The awards were presented at the Scottish Chambers annual Conference in Dunblane. Motherwell Bridge is an active member of SHEF(S) and are represented by Norman Stevenson, who is the current Chairman of the Forum. Forum meetings are held monthly at Logans Road. Norman also represents SHEF(S) on the Scottish Chamber of Safety, and the National Safety Groups Council. Michael Tolland and his team from East Dunbartonshire Council have won the Lord Cullen Trophy for the second consecutive year. The Safety Group, whose representative wins the competition receives the Albert Porter Rosebowl, which SHEF(S) retains for a second successive year.
