Synergy touches the sky

While singing the theme song from the Jeffersons, Synergy acended to level 256 on 5957. This is an amazing feat because due to vitality rules, the maximum wizard level on Ri Shoo at the time was 205. The reporter would like to congradulate Synergy on this grand acomplishment.

Atypical Lemur fishes out Fellstar

Stating that he felt Fellstar's dunking was not in the spirit of the Truce, Atypical Lemur restored Fellstar to 500 manna and level 20.

The waters have been further muddied in the Mountain Politics Ether about the details concerning Cat's dunking of Fellstar and the further events that have taken place. Also at issue in MP is wizards using familiar terms for each other: Such as the above refrence to Catriona as Cat, which is how she signs her posts. The controversy began when Art Hur began to refer to Catriona as Cat, instead of the full name and has led to some interesting revelations about the behind the scenes behavior of The Cabal.

As I am in the middle of this one, I will make no attempt to report anything further as my impartiality may come into question. I refer all interested wizzies to go to MP and read up, interesting stuff.

New Eden concept moves forward

Led by Bricker Prime (?) the proponents of the Newbie Mountain concept are gaining ground. Most wizards tend to agree that something must be done to increase retenion of new wizards visiting Pyroto. The two main concepts being fought over now are:

New Eden:

A safe haven for new wizards to come into where they will be protected and nurtured from the start. A new class of servant, Factorum of TSOTL will be in charge of New Eden. The Factos will have unlimited manna and will effectivly Magenta wizards. New Eden would be located approximatly 9000km from Pyroto to make migration or attack there impossible. Once a wizard became ready to leave New Eden a Facto would catapult them to the mountain of their choice. Those interested in learning more about New Eden or in becoming Factos should visit the Newbie Mountain Ether Channel or contact Bricker Prime.

Universal Code of Conduct:

An alternate proposal was put forth by Isabel (Restlech). This proposal calls for an extension of the Intermountain Council to handle issues related to New Wizards. Interested parties may download an early draft of the code.

There are obvious problems with both solutions, however, there is one thing that both sides agree upon. Newbie retention is not at the mark that it should be and something must be done to increase it. So what happens if you don't like either proposal? Then it is up to you to get out there and voice you opinion. It's not too late to alter the course of events and let your voice be heard. Get to the Newbie Mountain Ether and speak your mind.
