Smuggling Plums

Bio: Formed in a Dearborn basement in mid-2003, Smuggling Plums has been playing small clubs in the Greater Detroit area for over a year. The group has spent this time developing their unique sound: David Grammer's (guitar, vocal) pop sensibilities find their counterpoint in Nate's (guitar) deviant musicianship, with Chris Fleming (drums) providing the pulse. Drawing from rock, country, soul, and punk influences, Smuggling Plums take a melting pot approach reminiscent of the Beatles, Elvis Costello, and the Motown sound. Having played various local establishments, including the Hayloft Liquor Stand, Paychecks, the Blind Pig, and the Elbow Room, Smuggling Plums are looking forward to further developing their local fan base and attracting attention to the New Detroit Sound.
