Hey... Did you guys notice anything new about the website? We added more pics, more music, and more dwarf tossing. Come see the Plums live on Jan 7th at the Elbow Room, Jan 15th at Paychecks, and/or Jan 29th at Corktown Tavern. For more info check out the shows page. A message from dave:

    Hello people,

You all know me as Dave... Last night we rocked so hard that we ended up winning the battle of the bands. There were at least 80 people there. For those of you who weren't there, I'll give a recap of how it all happened...

Well... the Plums showed up a little late... around 8:30, but we weren't as late as our rival band. There was talk of forgetting the coin toss and just having us play first. Luckily for us the other band showed up just in time and we got to do the coin toss. I called tails and we got to play last, which is great since the voting comes after you play. We sat through the other band's set... they sounded like a throwback to the 90's, like Alice in chains, only not that great. They didn't look too glad to be there. When they were done we took the stage and got the audience laughing before we started to blast through our set. The crowd was awesome!!! There were people clapping along to the songs, people getting up to dance in the aisles, I mean it was a blast. We had our new friend Timmy up on stage again to play cow bell during secondhand guitar. That really got the crowd pumped. After the song "Full House" we had a trivia giveaway where the prize was a chia head. I ended up breaking a string halfway through the new song "Zombie." Luckily my friend, Adam, showed up just in time to change my string so that we could finish our set. Nate pulled out the Moog for Project M and it sounded great. Then we got to the last song which is our most beloved cover of the Prince tune... "Little Red Corvette." Before the voting started, I announced that we had about 60 free cd's that we were giving out, and they were all gone in about a minute. It was crazy. The voting started and they voted for the other band first... and then us... the sound guy holding the decibel meter raised his arms in the air and we were declared the winners!!!

It was so fun. I feel like rock star. I even had people asking for autographs and set lists. No better feeling than to see something that you put a lot of hard work into pay off, even if it was only just the Emagine theater... -Dave

I would say overall we were fairly happy with our performance Friday night at Bullfrog's. We would be estatic to go back and play there anyday. I think we were fairly liked. After all, from what I hear the bouncer really liked it. He was hip to the new wave of plum smugglers. Not to forget all those people who came out, thanks. Oh yeah, forgot to mention we really liked Velkro, especcially their version of Darling Nikki. -Chris

2 new shows were added to our show list. 1 at Bullfrogs bar and grill in Redford on Friday February 27th. The other, we will be back at the execllent Elbow Room March 20th for a Davy birthday special! So be there to support Dave! Something else that I forgot to add to my last news message, we are technically "professionals" now. We got $5 to play last Friday night. We really were not expecting anything, so even the $1 for each's cut was pretty damn cool! -Chris
