Hope,
I want to thank you for all you have done for
me! I have had nothing but bad luck since I came
back from Vietnam. As you know I did two tours
over there from 65-66-68-69. When I came
home the people hated me for what I did. I had
orders to go and did not shrink on my duties. I
went even though I did not want to go. I love
the U.S.A. and did not want any one coming back
here and having a war on my land. I found out
that you have cared for me and all the Vietnam
Vets. You have been a true friend ever since I
have known you. You have given me a new life,
but this pain will never go away. I served with
pride and understanding as I only knew in my own
way. I'm not really good at writing letters
like this. I have never been asked to write
anything like this. But for you I will try. I
want to tell you that you will always have a
very warm spot in my heart, and when I die it
will go with me where ever the lord wants me to go. And
if he was to make me an angel I would ask
him if I could stay close to you and keep you
out of harms way. I have a hard time saying all
the things I would like to say to you. But don't
have all night. So may God Bless you and keep you
safe, and hope some day to meet you either here
or up there. Good Night my "SPECIAL FRIEND".
Love you always.
