 Sakura Kinomoto is a young girl of 10 years who opened the book of the clow. It wasn't entirely her fault, because Kero, the guardian of the book was sleeping. Because the cards were released, Kero turned her into a Cardcaptor.
She has a best friend named Tomoyo, who videotapes Sakura as a cardcaptor, and puts them on her website. Her brother Touya is in the nearby high school. Every weekday morning, Sakura rollerblades alongside Touya's bike to go to school. Usually, Touya refers to Sakura as "Kaijuu" or monster. Her father is also a professor in a university. Li Shaoran is her rival at the beginning of the series. He usually thinks she isn't experienced enough to be a cardcaptor at all. As the series goes furthur, he starts to help Sakura capture cards, and even falls for her after on.
