Ryo is the leader of the Ronin Warriors, and the poor guy has been cursed with Mia and Yuli since the first five minutes of the first episode. The other Ronins didn't meet the two little parasites until the last five minutes of the first episode. And they got a break from them! Ryo is very cool, because during the whole series, all he did was slap Yuli. Come to think of it, that might not be a good thing. I mean, he had plenty of chances to get rid of both of those pests and he didn't! It must be because he's such a nice guy.
There are lots of stories about Ryo's childhood. One of them is that his father was a wildlife photographer, and was killed by a wild animal. This makes it ironic that Ryo and White Blaze are so close. Some people think that Ryo is an orphan. Then there are other people who believe that both of his parents are still alive and well. I don't really think anything of the matter. It's not like we meet anyone's parents in the series, anyway. (Except for Yuli's, but that was a coincidental meeting. Coincidentally, it was also pointless.)
Another thing that I'd like to address about Ryo-san. There are lots of people out there that think that Rowen is his best friend. Well, that's not true. Ryo is very close to all of the other Ronins (who could blame him? Look what they've been through together!), but White Blaze is his BEST friend.
