Tenchi Muyo and the OVA Series Go to Tenchi Muyo OVA
Random Tenchi Info Created in 1992 under the Title, Tenchi Muyo Ryo Oh Ki. However it have accumulated quite a large library of names in different countries with different translations such as: This Way Up!, No- Good Tenchi, No Need for Tenchi, and Heaven and Earth Prince. This series has Spawned a 13 episode OVA series, 1 Video, 1 Video Special, 2 TV series with 26 episodes each, and 3 Movies with more on the way! Tenchi Muyo! was originally conceived as a weird vacation episode of Bubblegum Crisis. However, after being thoroughly re-written, it has become the super sensation that it is today. The first OVA series was released in 1992 by a crack team of geniuses (I guess). The later incarnations were all great but not much change. In fact when Tenchi In Tokyo was released in America, Pioneer actually states that "It's the same old Tenchi" which was at least honest. Then came the Tenchi Movies (YAY!) You either love them or hate them. Specifically, the first movie, "Tenchi Muyo in Love" was released in 1996 and was an awesome movie but many critiqued that it was a shameless rip- off of Back to the Future. Then the 2nd and 3rd movies released which followed similar patterns. Soon after, the ratings began to slip drastically which shows the fans may have lost interest. However, The studio executives couldn't get enough. They eventually created a similar show that was said to be "Superior" to Tenchi called El- Hazard. 2 Video specials were released that introduced our favorite Magical girl, PRETTY SAMMY! They eventually will spawn their own series. Coming Soon!
